as I had said I really don't get it?? it must be something specific for some machines and not other.. driver, utilities.. something.. that is not N-Vidia specific.. as I play on an Intel build.. using an N-vidia 1080 @ 4k with high def textures and and I have zero of this stutter you all speak of. nada none..
As for the save file size?? I have a few that are game plus on top of game plus when I fire them up again no stuttering at all.. ever... for ND I already stated the same basically but with levling up the guns ect...
seems to me it HAS to be some background service.. or TSR or something.. that some of you have running that I don't.. my card is the reference edition.. and using the standard drivers.. no extra utilities for the card. wonder if that could be the difference if its hardware? but if video hardware why would it only stutter during a save?? that really sounds like a data bottleneck to me from Drive to CPU to RAM to CPU back to Drive?? why I mentioned TSR's
also just for more complete info.. my game is from UBI not Steam so it has the ubi in the background not the Steam one.. just in case that makes a difference also. .. I seriously hope you all figure it out.. as stuttering would suck... I'm just mentioning things trying to help.. since this was mentioned on MY thread.
It's interesting because I have everything on max, HD tex and I have stable 90 FPS, no drops. Only when the game saves, FPS drops and game stutter. More interesting is, that if I start new game, no stutters at all. The game become stutter after some progress in the game.
I have Uplay version, no Steam, everything is on ssd, so I can't undestand why it is doing this. But it definitely has nothing to do with disk speed or gpu.
EDIT:
Mods doesn't affect these things, tried many times. It is still the same, with mods or without.
my suggestion would be.. ONE turn off the cloud saves if you are using them.. then.. go offline. only.. what I would do if I was experiencing the stutter.. I would go into task manager and kill every TSR .. everything running that was not needed by windows and my vid card ect... all services in there.. then fire up the game and see if the stutter was gone.. if so.. then it is a TSR or background service or program conflict causing it. so then it would be a matter of one at a time elimination to find the culprit.. I do know I have heard "some" lighting, fan or overclocking utilities can cause such things.. as can other stuff running in the Back ground...
The reason I say this is a long time ago with another game (not a ubi game).. I accidentally found out what was causing a LOT of folks problems with the game.. and it was the same problem.. you see I got the game and it worked perfect.. then I purchased a new Keyboard and mouse of all things and they came with a utility for them.. all of a sudden my game was having random stuttering troubles.... So it was clear what caused it.. I *****ed @ Logitechs site and also shared what it was @ that games forum.. ALL those that were having the problem had already had that utility in their machines before buying the games.. sooo they blamed the game.. Soo it's worth checking your TSR's
@crunc01 Thank you for your efforts for trying to help, but we are running in a circle.
As first i want to say that i am a 59 years old man, that has a lot of experience and knowledge about computer soft- and hardware.
And please believe me.
I have done everything, really everything that i can do on my side, to get rid of the autosave freezes.
Let me ask a last Time: how big, in Kb, is your Far Cry New Dawn save file with the biggest progress in game?
And it seems as if you didn't read what was written before, so i write it again:
The autosave caused stuttering/freezing don't appears the whole time.
It starts when you reach an advanced level/progress in the game.
And then, once it started, it gets worse the more you progress then.
And just another indikator:
As said, when i quicksave in FC2, there is absolutely no stuttering or freezing.
And the saved file is more than 5 times bigger than the files that gets saved in FCND, where the game stutters/freezes as hell.
BTW Also FC3 can be quicksave without any stutters or freezes.
So it is clear that the problem is caused by the game.
Or do you have another explanation for that?
well my explanation is this.. my biggest save file for ND is 336KB . I don't get the freezes or stutters... and this was not supposed to be a tech support thread.. I was trying to tell the game designers to check out a movie..
Soo this 63 YO man is telling you... I would have been smart enough and mature enough to NOT use this tread for a tech problem but would have gone to the Support forum.. and that's where you need to go it seems....
OK then.Originally Posted by crunc01 Go to original post
- 336 Kb is too small to get stutters or freezes.
- i have contacted the support already and all what they tell you is, that this is a known problem that will not be fixed.
- and finally: it wasn't me that started a discussion about it here, i just have made a suggestion, what i would like ubsioft to do.
But you can relax now, i'm out of this senseless discussion.
