I've played Starlink: Battle for Atlas probably more than any sane person should... maybe 1500+ hours at this point. And in almost all of that play, I've ignored gravity weapons except when needed to solve Warden spires. I'd tried them at first, especially the Nullifier missile volley during space battles, and was underwhelmed. And my own gravity vortices created a navigation hazard (a polite way of saying I kept blundering into them in the heat of battle). Since there are no enemies with special weakness to gravity weapons, I just quit using them.

Over the past week or so I've spent some time specifically trying to get a handle on gravity weapons, and I am getting an appreciation for them. They're useful for certain tactics.

The #1 thing I learned about gravity weapons: their status effects can cause the opponent's projectiles to boomerang back on them. This can be fun to watch, especially with Cyclops and Outlaws. There also are some crush damage effects and, at least for ground-based mobile targets, the target's motion can be slowed down or stopped.https://discord.software/ FetLife vshare
