Why do we get XP for kills?

    Hello, Ubisoft,

I have been waiting to ask this question because I wondered if anyone else cared about this.

Why do we get XP for kills? This seems to incentivize killing every enemy on the island.

In Wildlands, if we completed a mission without killing any enemies, we got the same XP as we did if we wiped out the entire base. There was a mission in Wildlands that could be completed with one pistol kill. I used to show people how to do it in co-op and they were always amazed.

When I played Wildlands, I had a "minimum loss of life" policy. I tried to complete missions with the fewest casualties possible. Breakpoint seems to incentivize the opposite approach: Kill everyone.

Not only the XP you gain, but also the loot is an incentive to clear out everything that might drop something. And despite me agreeing with it being more fun to play with minimal loss and also knocking out enemies instead of shooting them, those mechanics are punishing if you don't take out every single enemy you see.

Lets talk about the real issue here, once you hit level 30 in xp thats it your done, xp is worthless now and its tied to perks that should be replaced with something of value, completing missions and investigations give you xp that essentially is wasted and not used until or unless they come out with a tier mode ( please change perks that give xp gains to something of value )

Somehow I think the next installments of the story increase the maximum XP level again, otherwise it would be extra pointless to award XP for further story missions.

I don't remember seeing anything in Wildlands telling me I got XP for killing an enemy.

You get xp for killing in wildland, i have got couple lv up after a kill in wildland, i can confirm that.

Game mechanics may encourage killing for loot, but player end can get over it if you so wanted to. I won’t kill the whole base in some faction missions, steal a truck, destory a truck, kill a commander etc. Unless i failed my stealth approach then kill mode is on.
