It shouldn't matter if your pc is a little old... it's not like you're running on an old single or dual core from 15 years ago, and the bottom line here really is this.... have any of your other games crashed? For example in my case, I play on a slightly old i7-4790k, coupled with the MSI M5 Z170A and and MSI 8gb 1070Ti.... which works great, but essentially it's a mainly 3 year old build... minus the GPU of course... still, my point is... games crash rarely anywhere else... even other titles on uplay, it's just THIS damned game.... so when they say it's your machines but all your other games say "that's full of ****" i will trust the other 90 games I have over this one... and it's not even the newest or most demanding game i got either... you guys in support, please avoid telling people useless **** like "it's not us, it's you" we are sadly for you not that stupid.
I will wait until they lose half their player base, their stocks crash and they and their model of releasing half finished games forces their successors to go back to basics and use ubisoft as a rule book for what not to do to your customers. And for any of you at ubisoft that stumble on this post, if ever, know that players are not stupid sheep, and no, we don't need you to exist, we can move on and take our money to companies that at least try to do well and keep their damned promises. It's very simple, it's an exchange, if you want money for a product, and you hand us parts and then promise we'll get the rest later, well... fool me once, right?
My game used to crash as well quite a a lot too. I did troubleshoot everything relevant.
Now I'm not entirely sure if it was a buggy game patch or a buggy Nvidia drivers update which was causing the issue but somehow they were not sitting quite well with each other.
As of today, most recent Nvidia drivers and the patch running on the game are working well for me. I haven't experienced a single crash since my last drivers update.
