the issue is related to DX12. There is an older post (I add link below) about this issue: "And everytime there's an Event Viewer error saying "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.""
I also had same problem and I run Dx12. It happens randomly with my GTX1070 card. I checked "event viewer" and same report. Anyway, seems they cannot fix the issue somehow.

Which graphic card do you run with your system? @iSayBoourns says he has AMD if I correctly understand. I wonder if these problems are related to NVIDIA.

Interestingly, I had fairly frequent crashes in the first The Division game in DX12 (I was able to put up with it for the entire game though). However I haven't had those problems in The Division 2, and yes, my hardware is the same as then (important bit being the graphics card, a GTX 1080).

Just like WrecK3rr, I too have been running DX12 since launch issue free.
AMD has the same issues. I have an AMD R9 Fury X and my brother has a 580. Both AMD, both crash after 5 minutes on DX12. They need to fix something with a patch, if people have been playing with no issues, that means they patched something funky.

The performance with DX12 is better, this is why people want it fixed. I guess we will have to wait a loooooong time, now that they are in damage control for Breakpoint. Also, they dont even have it listed as a known issue, which it obviously is.

My game doesnt crash on DX12 but I get massive framrate drops into low teens for a second or two and then suddenly shoot forward when it goes back up. This happens quite often until I go back to DX11.

    3600
    5700 XT Nitro
    16GB 3200mhz ram

I also get the same thing with the same system but using my GTX 1060, also happened when I was using my i5 2500k

I wonder, which Windows version you guys are on? I've had regular dx12 crashes on 1809. An upgrade to 1903 solved it almost. Only ever since Nvidia's driver version 436.48 (which supposedly fixed it), I've had no issues so far.

I ask because a friend of mine runs a twin system (at least on paper, literally the very same hardware) but on 1803... his game crashes all the time, no matter what driver.
