    Great Game

Ive played Wildlands from start to finish, a few times. fell in love with Open-World games, assorted weapons and armor, your own unique playstyle.
Now Breakpoint has entered the Open-World market, and its a winner-winner-chicken-dinner. Even if you dont like the main missions, or side missions, faction missions, just walking thru the forests, listening to the birds talking, see the wind flowing across fields of grass, moonlight rays filtering thru the trees, making for a serene atmosphere.
Lying in the grass, prone mode, observing 2 enemies next to motobikes in the field, taking out my TAC50 sniper rifle, suppressor off, armor-piercing rounds, and fire one round, into the gas tank of the motorbike. BoOM!, a massive explosion, killing the enemy, and have your shot heard echoing thru the mountains, like a real gun does.

great game, 112 hours later, wanting more.

    cheers

my system: I7-8800, 32gb ram, msi gaming mobo, rtx 2070 8gb, m2flash gamesdrive, AIO watercooling, sbz soundcard, agon curved monitor.

p.s. all my settings are on Ultra

Thumper606, your words are a joy to read. I'm totally with you. Breakpoint is amazing!! And there is so much potential for the future. It's nice to see some positivity on the forums amongst all the negative and immature comments.

I've logged over 1,000 hours on Widlands and about 115 hours with Breakpoint so far. I've only done 2 story missions in Breakpoint, yet it doesn't get boring for me. That's how much I enjoy Breakpoint.

Thank you Ubisoft for creating such a fantastic world for me to play in.

    I agree with the OP.

It's not going to be my GOTY but it is a good game and I'm expecting a 200-300 hour first playthrough.

The issues some players have with it seem more related to it not being a different game they wanted to play, which absolutely doesn't make it a bad game.

You're so wrong, so wrong. Breakpoint is built from the ground-up as a monetization machine. You're forced to run around to spend time on meaningless missions to get the gear score up, which you can skip by purchasing "time savers". Yellow blinking notifications are everywhere, and their only meaning/goal is to make Ubisoft more money! Every single minute in Breakpoint is to made for you to spend more money on microtransactions. If you do not understand this, then I suggest you read the articles and watch the Youtube videos on how Ubisoft is trying to exploit gamers. If you still do not understand this, then I suggest you do not spend your time here on this forum talking trash about gamers who see the situation for what it really is.

Breakpoint isn't all bad, and there is potential for it to be a good game, as I do enjoy the graphics & music & level design, but the greedy corporate ladder has made Tom Clancy's legacy into something that I truly despise. I'm really trying to enjoy Breakpoint, but the greed is so overwhelmingly visible in almost every single aspect in the game that it's really hard to enjoy playing the game. If you do not understand this, good for you, but don't tell those that do understand the greediness that they're wrong.

To put this all into perspective, think about a movie that is made to last 15 hours, is very repetitive to make it last longer, and offers you 'time savers' to get to the end faster. That is basically the design philosophy of Breakpoint. Not to forget that you can't watch the movie offline, not even if you bought the DVD. And you keep repeating that "if you don't like it, don't play the game". This is a stupid argument, since Ubi is basically the only one making tactical shooters playable on consoles. It's like if James Bond movies were monetized, one would have to give up the whole franchise if they screwed it totally up.

So SofaJockey, if you want to be a fanboy and continue to defend Breakpoint's awful design decisions, go ahead, but try to justify your opinions better. At the moment you only seem to be a troll/fanboy.

I've no particular interest in being, as you call it, a 'fanboy' though I am enjoying the game.

I've certainly made a more detailed case in other threads (sometimes at length).

But in summary, GRB uses design features that have been successfully implemented in many other Ubi games without fuss.
RPG elements have been a game staple for decades.
The microtransactions that have been attracting fake outrage are entirely missable and not pay2win.
The world is gorgeous and the story, whilst not the lead feature of the game is certainly good enough.

In short, I don't think the design decisions are awful, I just think that some players are foolishly upset that the game does not share more closely design principles from games they enjoyed a decade ago. It is not that game, nor was it advertised as such.

We need more posts like this, I believe the complaints come from people not even playing the game and reviewers wanting to go too fast so they do not even see the details put into the game.
