Hello everyone.
I've been playing Breakpoint on daily basis fora while by now (more than 70 hours) and here's a few bugs and general informations, that I'd like to share with you:
1.1) The game is unstable in general:
Playing solo this usually just means a lot of freezes and some lags.
Playing as a squad the connection to the host gets lost both frequently and random.
The same Problem also occurs during ghost war matches. Sometimes the connection is suddenly lost and the player returns to the open world.
Also the game sometimes just completely crashes.
1.2) Invisible enemies:
When playing as a squad the host is the first and only one who sees the enemy forces and is able to fight them. The rest of the team should look for a safe playce, where they wait for up to 30 seconds (sometimes even longer) until the enemies did spawn for everyone. This bug rarely occurs when traveling on foot, but it gets worse with increasing numbers of enemies.
And watching the host fighting "air" until I can finally join the battle is as boring as it sounds.
1.3) Invisible teammates:
I only encountered this bug in the open world. Especially after a freeze the teammates are not always where they are supposed to be, doing what they are supposed to do. Especially if the freeze occurs while riding some kind of vehicle, the teammates often end up levitating somewhere around the vehicle.
Sometimes this bug also orrurs without vehicles.
I also saw teammates levitating over the ground instead of walking. Sometimes all the animations just stopped until the player relogged. Extreme cases even make a teammate invisible (or rather the model gets stuck somewhere and seperates from the player).
2) Rockets and grenades:
I already encountered this bug in Wildlands, as I was piloting helicopters with rocketlaunchers. In Breakpoint it also happen with grenade launchers, pretty often:
As the weapon is fired there might be the corresponding sound effect, maybe even as a loop, or silence, but no projectile(s) spawn. Up to 10 seconds later the projectile(s) spawn at the location they were launched from and follow their normal path. After impact it might take up to 10 seconds until the explosion(s) occur.
Playing Wildlands I even managed to shoot down the helicopter i was piloting with my own rockets, due to this bug. I did not try to repliate this situation in Breakpoint, yet.
3) Death by fast travel:
At least 1 out of 10 times (usually more often) usng the fast travel feature causes the player to spawn/glitch under the map and die. This seems to happen even more frequently if traveling to another player.
4) Stuck in geometry:
OK, holes in the ground and no way to climb out. Fast travel or the help of another player are one of the few ways to escape. There already are a lot of those traps on th map of Wildlands. It's worse on Breakpoint, though. There's not just trapholes, I also saw players glitching into environment pretty frequently.
For example: I personally entered a bunker (because of enemies, loot, cover, etc.). After finishing my business there I left the bunker through the same door I had entered it. Suddenly I glitched right between the a sign and the wall right next to the entrance I just passed, inside the bunker I just left. There was no way for me to escape on my own by movement options and fast travel was not available. My teammate got me unstuck by blowing me up, carrying me outside and reviving me there.
If a teammate can get close enough with a vehicle, the trapped player can also escape by etering the vehicle.
5) My "special friend" the loading screen:
OK, loading screens are a common thing if a cutscene is loading, or if the fast travel option is being used. But in Breakpoind the loading screen just pops up everywhere and stays for a random amount of time. Even if opening the inventoy or the map.
6) The immortal turret:
I encoutered this bug only once yet, but there was a gun turret that just kept firing after it was destroyed. There was nothing we could do about it except simply leaving the area.
7) The vaulting system:
I'm not sure if this is a bug, but there's even more things Nomad should be able to vault over or climb up, but simply can't do it, than in Wildlands. I've encountered countless obstacles (many of them less than 1 meter high) that just can't be passed by the mighty elite soldier called Nomad.
Hopefully the bad guys will never put him/her in a playpen ....
8) Basejumps:
This is actually a feature that I didn't really figure our playing Wildlands, as well. In both games I usually find a nice high place, sprint to the edge while hammering the spacebar until it beg for mercy and still end up watching Nomad falling down to the bottom, still in the walking animation, unable to open the parachute and finally dying. This is Why I actually gave up on basejumps. It rarely worked for me in Wildlands and it never did in Breakpoint, yet.
I only saw a teammate do it once and it never worked again for both of us.
That's all the significant stuff i saw so far. Thanks for staying with me to this point.
Last but not least I want to share some stuff I would call quality of life issues and some thoughts of mine.
1) The passive ability to see recources on the minimap frequently stops working, especially if playing co-op.
2) The helicopter controls are horrible. Due to the constant movement, even while hovering it is extremely hard to hit anything with miniguns. Is this supposed to simulate constant bad weather conditions on Aurora?
3) What's goning on with the ammunition? The game does not seem to save the numbers if the player quits the game. It also seems Nomad automatically drops all ammo types not used by the currently equipted weapons. If this is some sort of realism feature:
Come on! Nomad already carries various weapons, lots of clothing and much more. Some more bullets should not hurt under such conditions.
As for the thoughts I mentioned:
I think I read something about Breakpoint being supposed to be a harder, more class/role based experience than Wildlands.
OK, there is a class system and each class has a specific gadget and skills. But with the ability to carry two main weapons and the options to change weapons and attachments at any given time it does not feel much different from the regular Wildlands gameplay.
Actually Wildlands in Ghost Mode feels more role based in some way than Breakpoint. Yet I do see that the loot system and the roleplay game like mechanics that have been added to Breakpoint interfer (or rather exclude) the way Ghost Mode went.
Though I do have to admit, that I do not miss the perma death feature
Ok, that's all I have to say for now.
To everyone who managed to get to this point without skipping or falling asleep:
Cangratulations, thank you for reading and have a good day ^^
I just noticed a few bugs, that i forgot to mention:
1) Pickup bug:
- Sometimes boxes I opened still show up on the minimap.
- Also there are problems with other items like ammunition, explosives, etc. Sometimes the character gets stuck in the pickup animation. A very annoying thing in the middle of a fight.
- Sometimes ammunition, explosives, etc. that can't be carried (maximum number reached) make it hard to interact with laptops and other Items players can get informations from.
- Sometimes Items dropped by enemies (weapons, clothes) can't be picked up, even if there's room for it in the player's inventory.
2) Invisible weapons:
Sometimes the weapons of a player don't load in. It is pretty hard to aim if the sights and the entire weapon are invisible.
3) Reload bug ando others:
Sometimes weapons just can't be reloaded. But this can usually be fixed by switching to another weapon and back to the one that wouldn't reload.
A worse case is a bug, that prevents changing firemodes. I don't know how to fix that one (except for closing the game and starting it again) and it can cause the player to use a drone instead of switching firemodes.
4) Grabbing and melee:
Running up close to an enemy and holding "E" to grab the NPC or pressing "F" for a (beautiful, but pretty long) melee kill animation does not alwys work. Sometimes players need to turn around and/or run around the enemy until it finally works. I personally often removed the silencer from my gun, as I was trying to do a melee kill.
5) Wounded in a vehicle:
If a teammate happens to be wounded while being inside a vehicle it can be hard to find the right spot to take care of the wounded. Sometimes there is no option at all to do so.
I'm not shure if this is a bug or a feature, but sometimes being under fire renders me unable to aim or fire my guns. Sometimes I even get killed because I'm constantly unable to fight back (on normal difficulty).
Also not a bug:
Some buildings havo no ladder or stairs, that lead to the roof. Yet there are enemies up there, so players need to get a helicopter to get the loot the enemies might drop.
Again, thanks for reading and have a good day
