    Both are my favorite BUT

    I played only Wildlands for three years or so and enjoyed every moment of it.

    Breakpoint unfortunately is boring and for the first time in my life I play several games in the same day. I hope they make it great as we all thought.

    You are referring to dialog options and choices having consequences which can then result in another branching path that a mission can take.

    It’s an illusion of options which in reality is a set of predetermined branching outcomes for a mission that have been designed by the game designer.

    In quite a few of those RPG’s you mentioned, and this is the key to essentially what I’m pointing to here — the developer will know EVERY possible way a mission can be completed, because every different option was DESIGNED.

    Conversely — when I speak of freedom in gameplay I’m talking about where the game designer gives the player tools within an open sandbox and basically allows the player to decide how they complete the objective using the tools available.

    In this respect players will find ways to complete an objective DYNAMICALLY, in ways that the developers had not even conceived — a good example of this is Dishonoured.

    Now for me that’s true freedom. I felt Wildlands had this type of freedom.

    I’ll touch on you point about RPG in a bit.......
    I measure a game by the experience I receive and what it is meant to accomplish. That's my measurement for games. When I played Wildlands, I felt like I was going to play a Ghost Recon meets GTA with maybe features Assassin's Creed's blending in. When I played the beta, I saw that it was online co-op but I wanted more things to than just co-op the same story over and over. I did not get that impression from the beta so I jumped ship to buy For Hpnor, at the time.

    Breakpoint beta impressed me because I liked some of concepts in place and thought they meshed well into the GR series.

    I agree we both measure games differently and have different ideas of linear.

    Honestly, when is a game not smoke and mirrors. I understand game creation because I've actually created things in Game Engines like Unity and UE4 (I absolutely hate Blueprint, it's convoluted). For example, this past month I prototyped a feature for a school project that was reminiscent of Batman: Arkham Series Detective Mode. This month, I actually expanded on it further and improved it. When I boot up a game, I can more or less figure out how they did something because of my experience with game engines. I've done things like Level Design, Narrative Writing, 3D Modeling, Animated GameObjects like Cranes to pick up Shipping Containers, and ect before. I know how alot of things work in games.

    Every Game is smoke and mirrors. You may not believe but your "gameplay" freedom was more or less determined most of the time. AAA companies usually have 10-20 game designers come up with features and ect. Your video of how you snuck into the chapel to extract that guy. There was at least one designer that knew you'd be able to do that. The way I see it is this. While 3 drastically differents means to complete a mission are designed and and an illusion. Within those three methods of completion, you still have that same freedom you mentioned but it is tripled because of the extra options hence why I think it's more freeing from a player's perspective.

    I never felt the freedom you described because it was so minimal and did not alter my gameplay one bit. Me assaulting a base, what happens I either get mission failed or I have to kill a few extra soldiers. It's not that dynamic, in my opinion.

    Absolutely; Breakpoint is much better then Wildlands; the new loot system is a lot better than tagging supply boxes and the game is a lot harder than Wildlands.

    Glad that those AI teammates who went shooting if you didn't want it or lay in front of you during snipping are no longer ingrained.

    Graphically is Breakpoint amazing beautiful.

    I plan to reinstall Wildlands today and play. If you are not playing with friends it just feels off. The game plays better and all but why promote a game with Nomad (Player) and three other named Ghosts ( Fixit,Vasily,Fury) if they're not in the game in any significant way.

    I want Ubisoft to move away from BIG open worlds in this franchise and make it more like Hitman 2's leveled structured koncept. They are semi open and all over the globe. That mean that you can have for example level one on a tropical island,, level two in sibiria aso. For every level you lock up more guns and gears depending on how you completed the level (side quests aso).

    i agree,

    instead of wasting time creating open worlds that you need to spread your Devs time resources across all of it. compress that Focus into Sandboxes.

    Ground Zero level was so much better than any map in MGSV for example.

    Am i enjoy breakpoint the same way to wildlands? Definitely not.

    I enjoy wildlands during leveling process, collecting guns, attachments etc. I have made 3 characters with 3 different play styles by limiting my weapon of choice and go through the story 3 times.

    On the other hand, i enjoy breakpoint where wildlands cannot provided. Especially i enjoy the added RPG elements like class, skill tree, perks and gear attributes. Also loots with rarity, it felt fantastic when i saw a yellow loot...

    I admit i kind of enjoy loot shooter and i have played borderlands 2, division 1 and 2, but i hate how these game can’t 1 shot kill with headshot. Breakpoint provided me endless fun that no other loot shooter able to.
