Frustrations over Builder's Block and can't seem to publish my own maps

I have made maps in Far Cry Instincts back in 2005 and made some more on Far Cry Instincts Evolution in 2006. I have recreated three of my maps in Far Cry Instincts Predator in the early 2010s, but I only managed to publish two of them since the third remains incomplete to this day thanks to inactivity. Fast forward to 2018 when Far Cry 5 finally came out, I actually went straight to the map editor and attempted to design my first map. Over time I keep updating existing creations I have already designed and most of the time I'm not satisfied with the outcome so I remade them again and again. So far I have uploaded 3 videos of my map, all of which are outdated. I have been posting screenshots to the Map Making club on Xbox Live. My main problem is that I can't seem to complete my own map that I started when the game first came out.

I uploaded my first video of my map to YouTube on March 29th, 2018:

Two days later, I decided to show off the later version of my map on March 31st, 2018:

I have been spending time playing other games and that means it is taking time away from Far Cry 5. Every now and then I have been gradually making updates to my map. This is the version of my map as of July 15th, 2018:

The third video is certainly outdated, and I have been making a lot of updates to it. The TV on the third video is actually the third version of it. I designed a fourth and finalized version of the TV, a grandfather's clock, window curtains and more. I haven't been posting screenshots either. There are so many factors why I just can't seem to complete my own map and publish it and mostly because of the following:

    1. Not that many people from my friends list play Far Cry 5. If they have, they only play it for single player. They don't play for multiplayer.
    2. Gamers' toxic attitude towards everything and I can't emphasize this enough. When Far Cry 5 just came out and someone mentioned his friend has it. I ask for their opinion, and the first and only word is a profanity in 4 letters that starts with the letter S. The fact they wouldn't even give the game a chance is ridiculous.
    3. Friends who have made Far Cry maps in the past had lost interest thanks to #2 and the following #4.
    4. YouTubers and people who write articles about video games who are often negative about everything and most of their viewers and readers follow their opinion without question and claim they are all facts. They would write out "Worst game ever", "Tacked on multiplayer", "Worst multiplayer ever", "I want a refund" and exaggerate everything. Yes, there are valid complaints. Yes, opinion is subjective. However, their absurd outrage and influence is just deplorable since people in general consider it absolutes.
    5. Decline. When I saw how there were so many people playing Far Cry 5's multiplayer when it came out, that game me a lot of motivation to start designing maps. The massive decline of how many players were playing is really discouraging. When you can't find players through matchmaking anymore, you'd have to start playing through the lobby browser more often now. To be honest, the idea of choosing my published map and have people vote for it sounded exciting to me. I don't have that same vibe anymore if I have to choose the maps as a lobby host.
    6. Ubisoft no longer updates the game. This is self explanatory, but I think this is the result because of problems #2, #4 and #5.

I hosted other people's maps and most of them were from PlayStation 4 and PC through MapSwapper. I'm one of those that have hosted multiplayer matches that almost lasted more than 4 or 5 hours nonstop. I don't do it often, but I have done it and it's always fun. I have hosted my own maps before in Far Cry Instincts, Far Cry Instincts Evolution and Far Cry Instincts Predator and I had a good time. The thing is, I have yet to do this with my own maps in Far Cry 5.

Normally "builder's block", a map designer's version of writer's block, is the result of feeling stuck. You can't seem to brainstorm or figure out how to start designing things. Things like running out of ideas, being burnt out or never being satisfied. I have been feeling quite stumped on creating things. However, the 6 factors (and possibly a lot more) I had listed made builder's block only worse.

I now own Far Cry 5 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. Just like point #1, I don't have people to play with. I was really considering creating a map on PC, but when I saw how the empty the lobby browser is for multiplayer... I was just perplexed. There are more players on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 than on PC. Normally this emptiness would occur on Xbox One past 10 pm PST. On PC, this emptiness is during the day. I was really expecting more than just 1 or 2 matches.

I have been working on 3 multiplayer maps so far. One can be seen in the videos, the second map is a recreation of real life Market Street in San Francisco and the third is a faithful recreation of Hollow Town from Far Cry Instincts. These 2 are far more incomplete than the one I have shown. There are no videos of them, but I would if I'm making progress. In fact, I even made it true to Far Cry Instincts with a starting loadout featuring an MP5, an M9, 2 frag grenades, rocks and binoculars. There's a second loadout with a suppressed M9 pistol.

My FCIE maps can be found on FCMAPS.net under an old gamertag. I really want to complete my maps on Far Cry 5 but I need people to play with so I have a reason to.

I had a go at remaking Hollow Town on FC5 for DM and TDM it's available on all platforms, Download it and take a look in the editor see what you think, did my best at trying to place things in the correct areas.

Yes, Heavy Dam and Bullet Train/Train Express. I would like to see my published FCIP maps in fcmaps.net.

Yeah I played your version of Hollow Town and the one with zombies in it. I like it. I have been trying to recreate the buildings from Hollow Town on the Xbox One, but the budget is a nuisance. I even made sure the shadows and the sun's position in the sky is accurate. Not everything is final and I haven't worked on this for months.

FCMaps died the day Far Cry 3 came out, I had a bust up with Supascoopa_ mostly my fault we went in opposite directions and the game didn't deliver, I never learned Drupal so could do very little with the site, Far Cry 4 didn't deliver with PvP either and although I actually like FC5 PvP a lot it needed a couple more multiplayer modes at least.

I found Heavy Dam in the DB over there.

    Bullet Train

Honestly those buildings look really sweet please keep building Hollow Town & the other maps, I am in the UK and often time zones & shift work are a pain but I will try to get online to play a few maps.

Now if only we could use current maps in the next Far Cry game and open them in the editor that would be very special indeed.

Heavy Dam on FCIP didn't have that waterfall texture glitch appearance anymore and each end of the Dam is now a wall with sealed tunnel entrances. I'm glad I removed the houses and .50 cal sniper rifles in the remade 2008 and FCIP versions for balancing and realism purposes. I had to remove the secret SOS message since the extra brushes were needed for the remade version. By the time I made Heavy Dam on FCIP, I forgot how to make plants and trees float in the air. I couldn't recreate the foliage on the dam as seen in those screenshots.

Bullet Train is pretty much the same on FCIP, it just doesn't have the ziplines on the ceiling. Anyone who found out that I had placed ziplines on the ceiling for the FCIE version and used them pretty much ended the endless tug of war stalemates in Steal the Sample.

I want to continue designing maps for Far Cry 5, but builder's block is getting in the way and I need people to play with. There are two obstacles when I'm creating Hollow Town on Far Cry 5. I already mentioned that budget is one of them. The other is trying to make sure it's both to scale and the length of time for walking distance is the same as the original. The open skylight is much bigger than the original so it's not completely to scale, but it's better this way in terms of gameplay.

I forgot about that waterfall texture glitch Jet Black Bebop used that in some maps too it looked really cool

Made Secret Garden with Mark TW and Elite Defence 2 both had raised archways made from bushes it was a neat glitch / trick.

I remember that floating bush / tree glitch, thinking back to FCIP I think we placed the plant on terrain and raised it, kept a button or trigger held in and clicked Undo the terrain disappeared but the plant / bush / tree stayed floating.

I believe it still works like that now in FC5, in the pre-release editor we could raise trees they stretched but that was either a bug or something the devs had and didn't make it into the final version, personally I would like the option to raise in the air trees / plants / bushes and possibly angle some even if static ones, I think FC2 and FC3 allowed us to raise trees - can't remember but some of the older games allowed it.

That looks really nice. I was able make it possible to walk on foliage in Skull Mines. There are no screenshots of my map Skull Mines, but I was able to make it possible to walk on top of tree foliage. I am on the FCIP map editor as of writing this post so I could easily describe this technique. Using the Forest template biome, I was using the stacking glitch so I could place objects together. I placed several trees named "Tree 4" close enough to one another so you can actually walk on top of those trees. I believe I used the foliage from "Tree 2" to conceal all the Tree 4s since Tree 4 did not have any leaves. To walk on trees, using Tree 4 is the easiest to use because of the lack of foliage. I actually never saw anyone else pull off this technique before where you can quite literally walk on trees.

I still remember that one map someone had made where if you throw frag grenades, it would instantly explode. This person made it possible by raising brushes with spawn points on it so high that grenades would behave like that.

By the way, I don't think I ever added you on Xbox Live. I also have steam and Uplay+ for PC.
