Not a single wipe all the way through.
not my case~! haha.. but i suspected a more crowd controlling type of build would likely do better at the end part.
I wiped like 2 dozens times i would say.

**** spoilers are in my post..so don't read on if you don't want to get spoiled***

I went in with my shield pistol build. Open areas like the end of DARPA are very tough as a solo shield build. I would have to try in group... but I would think I can survive more easily in a group as the attn isn't completely going to be on me.

My assessment of this end area of this mission:

    - the sentry turrets.. have to knock them out first.. and quick.
    - pick off small fries and purples ASAP
    - take out the mini tanks ASAP
    - after taking out enough small fries.. you will proc Brenner to show up
    - Brenner calls in mortar strikes
    - If you can get Brenner down from the upper back platform..then take him out but if not.. you will have to play cat and mouse while picking off every other NPC until Brenner is left.. at least that's how it went for me.

I tried this mission in various ways as a shield build.. i tried running around and gunning,,.. but it's bad for exposure.. i can't cover my flanks with a shield.. i tried going cover to cover..and it's still not very easy. If you stay in cover you will get flanked and flushed out or you will get spammed by enemy grenades and drones.

You get spammed by enemy drones..grenades and lots of enemy fire attempting to suppress you.. flanking fire.. it's just all bad.
When Brenner shows up.. he can easily 1 shot your armor away since he sets up to snipe.
Then Brenner also flushes you out of cover with his mortar strikes.
If you have Heavy gunners or Robo dogs show up..it's real mayhem.

Then shooting angles are all terrible.. and I find not enough cover in certain spots.. it's sparse towards the middle and first area you enter there.
Enemies pour in from all angles.

It's not a large area so you are guaranteed to get hit from some angle. It's pretty much the worst thing for a shield user and i just wish Shield users could be made tankier without sacrificing too much gun dmg. It's a really tough balance to strike and being forced into the Technician spec makes it somewhat worse (i prefer the survivalist tree since the incendiary grenades are much more versatile).

To be fair I haven't gotten enough time to experiment on different gearing setups which I plan to investigate.. so maybe I am not properly optimized in TU6 yet.
Also, i most likely am using an unfavourable build for this end arena.

It was practically heroic difficulty for me without the bullet spongieness

Well, if you got the sweet gear I guess it does make it easier. That rooftop is a little brutal without a solid setup. I did it day 1 with the P-017 Launcher and my LMG build and it wasn't too bad Lighting the Elite up with 6 rockets mad it much easier., went back as Gunner and AR build and it was brutal. minigun is still near worthless as a weapon.

The Pentagon mission I found to be much easier than the DARPA portioned mission.
Upon reaching the end area for Pentagon you will early on meet with that Aerial Drone... you could use the underside of the left platform (it has the ammo refill box underneath there) and pick at the Aerial Drone while being shielded by the platform then find a suitable angle to hit it while keeping it's rockets blocked off with the platform and environment.
If you however still end up on the platform above.. then use poles or anything in the air... object that block the projectile path of the Aerial drone's rockets and turret fire.

I think the grenade spam is also quite a bit in some instances.. imagine using a Pistol or a Liberty and trying to aim calmly and fire at distance .. essentially pistol sniping them and widdling down their armor while taking on their fire barrage.
It wasn't fun in that regard i agree.

Well, from what you guys wrote here I see that the only thing concerning me is Brenner's armorkit. It doesn't even look like unbreakable, he's just applying armorkit when he should be dead. In my personal opinion, it's just a bad game design to force us to kill him twice though we have enough DPS to kill him once.

When i started that bit i just put my turret up at the beginning on the ledge, threw seekers out into a group for some distraction, legged it to the boss, nuked him down with my AR, he healed once right when i was reloading, so i nuked him again with mr AR.......well i think that's how it went, by that time i had a fair few beers

I crept along the perimeter and when I got down to the far left corner he came down after me. I hit him with a flash bang and then melted him with my AR that has Eyeless. I used a lot of armor kits getting over there though, there wasn’t a lot of room for error. If I would have missed with the grenade or not totally taken him down before the blind wore off I would have been screwed.

As to the one with the drone, as others have said, I think the key is to hit it every time you see it, especially that first time when you pop up on the roof.

for me the story mode was easy as other story mode

skill build with merciless which does 3.8m dmg and seekers with 600k dmg and turret with 37k dmg

solo challenge was fun and challenge but doable

I can live with the armor kit. It's only one kit per boss fight so that doesn't feel unfair for me. I like it much better than the immunity mechanism on some bosses - THAT is really poor game design (imho).

What bugs me more while fighting Brenner is the hilarious damage dealt be the explosives. This is currently happening all over the game and can become a major pain in the arse every now and then.

The NPCs with the grenadiers Are way to OP they shoot multiple grenades back to back Yes they say air burst out that’s a warning but you move out of the way but have to worry about snipers drones etc as your dodging out of cover for the over powering explosions Way to much Division makes some things more frustrating then fun .The Line is crossed in this game at times .Makes you quit playing
