what I'm trying to say is that this game is a looter with no end game content and the only end game content were getting hopefully soon is the raidOriginally Posted by Whitebleidd Go to original post
raiders might make up a small portion of the player base but I guarantee this is a game for looter fans not tactical shooter fans
The game out for only 10 days. If you guys finished the all things, story, side missions, faction quests etc. You must be literally fast travelling on very easy mode no immersion, no diffucilty gun blazing skipping cutscenes etc. I've been playing the game story mode. Stopped doing main missions as soon as rescued Skell. Just doing side missions and daily factions missions on extreme difficulty almost all HUDs are off and no vehicle using most of the time I'm walking even not running at all. (Yes, I'm an RP junkie and yes I walked that 22km quest distance)
Begging for the raid... Ah these Fortnite kiddos...
I’m gear score 250 and I’ve done everything there is to do. Battle rewards are maxed out early in the morning since that all I really have to do now
I play with no hud on extreme difficulty
This game isn’t that hard to do everything there is to do.
All that’s left for me personally is to get to golum and get the multicam and I’ll be a happy camper
So I’ve been wanting the raid to release ASAP
I beat the campaign in 3 days it's like what 20 missions at 15/30 minutes a mission on extreme difficulty playing exploration mode
the only mission that took me over an hour was brother vs brother because the boss got glitched and wouldn't enter the arena to fight them in so I had to reload the checkpoint after 20+ minutes of confusion
there is zero endgame content when it was boasted in the marketing
destiny had strikes including weekly strikes and nightfalls the division 2 had missions with modifiers and the whole world re up thing all of those rewarded high level loot and were highly replayable this game has nothing of that flavour
also I don't really like fortnite no battle royale has just tried being simple yet fortnite has the whole building thing I'd have to spend hours learning and it's not a mechanic I personally have interest in and it's a little too stylistic nothing wrong with that just not my cup of tea
the game is lacking any endgame content and it sounds like the raid will be what you come back to every week since it will always have new modifiers and the raid itself will be getting updated at least once
honestly if this game had missions in the vain of graw and graw 2 to take the place of strikes from destiny it would give people more to do at least something with more longevity than what we currently have this is a games as a service title whether we like it or not the game needs content that will bring us back at least once a week and we don't have that
Guy, the game came out... 11 days ago. 14 if you count the early access. It's not like they've kept you hanging for months.Originally Posted by StLWarLord Go to original post
Also, with as voracious an appetite for content as you have (which isn't a bad thing), you'll probably finish the raid in an hour or so and be left fuming anew. :-P
Honestly, I think it might help if you took the time to smell the roses, do some random bases you might have missed, and tool around with PVP. All things in time.
Edit addition: Oh, I see from the other posts what is going on. Enough of the traditional Ghost Recon fanbase skipped this "Ubisoft Standard Open World Game wearing Ghost Recon's skin" that a goodly chunk of the crowd that showed up here are actually... Destiny / Division fans. AKA, looter shooter fans used to the Destiny routine of daily dungeons, raids, abysmal gear grinds, and so forth. The MMO-Lite crowd.
Meanwhile, I'm a holdout from the Ghost Recon crowd that would rather this game never get strikes or raids, because I hate those and actively avoid MMO-Lites because of their grindy end-game rubbish. I'd prefer to just have some new islands every couple months to tool around on... but I'm not the audience this game franchise is aimed at. Not anymore.
Sadness. "Everyone is in stilettos. I guess I didn't get the memo." :-P Guffaw.
These people who claim they have lives are just casuals, the raid is for people who actually dedicate time to play and that's who it's for. Sure casuals can play the raid but not like any of the dedicated hardcore. For the dedicated hardcore we're bored right now and all the end-game progression/reward systems exist on golem island so, at the time of writing, it is locked and not playable. Maybe, just maybe it would be reasonable to at least get a "release date" for the raid? Not only that, but having a bunch of cosmetics, and a quest, a freaking QUEST that pops up in game every time you LOG IN to PLAY telling you....
JOIN THE RAID
JOIN THE RAID
TALK TO JERICHO AND ASK HOW TO JOIN THE RAID
Maybe it's a little OK to just ask about the raid? No? Ok, you're right, a paying customer like me has no rights to know something that the game is reminding me to do and play.
This... in a forum about Ghost Recon. A hardcore uber 1337 gamer talking down about others who dare have the audacity to have meaningful existences outside of this game? You know those people who claim to have lives? "Just casuals... sure [they] can play the raid but not like any of the dedicated hardcore." They suck, yo. They're nothing compared to the golden gods, who await their bowls of grapes with ire and vexation. The great deserve their due.Originally Posted by nl.0 Go to original post
What did you do to this franchise, Ubisoft Paris? Where are my weird couch-commando peeps? The ones that talk about Mk17s like they've actually fired them and debate which Tom Clancy novel best exemplified the current geo-political crises in the Middle East? You traded the absurdist pseudo-military fanbase I loved for... hardcore 1337 raiders? OH! UGH! ACH! I feel like I've stumbled down a hill, butt-sliding away from the true heart of this franchise. This is the worst part about the game, right here. Right now. On this thread. I liked the Wildlands crowd so much. I miss them.
Look I get it I'd never would have thought we would have gotten a raid or any of this looter stuff that frankly has no place in a tactical shooter but here we areOriginally Posted by Ingel_Riday Go to original post
I've been seeing a lot of "judge the game on what it is and not what it could have been" going around here so I'll give you the undeniable truth
ghost recon breakpoint is a looter shooter with mmo fetures that falls flat on it's face from bugs, performance issues, and being a very bad looter shooter
or it's a tactical shooter that's being held back by the mmo, looter, rpg features that has a significant amount of bugs, optimisation issues and a slew of authenticity issues from incorrect calibres to the un authentic attachment selection on guns the list goes on and on
I'm not going to lie this game feels more like assassins creed odyssey than wildlands and we have to live with the fact that it's more looter than tactical shooter
so if it's a bad looter that needs endgame content like all looters so holding back the endgame is killing the game
the fact that after one week semi dedicated players have reached the end with nothing left to do is bad for a live service game
honestly I don't really care for raids or that other stuff but for what breakpont is it's bad at all of it
@ManticButton
Fair enough. Frankly, I wish they'd double down on the tactical side and start ditching the MMO-Lite rubbish. Mold this into Wildlands 2.0 over time instead of a hollow looter shooter chasing a trend that is on life support. Destiny 2 disappointed, Division 2 has stumbled badly from what I've heard, and Borderlands 3 is the only fellow doing relatively okay out of the bunch. Shift gears and go for what this franchise is actually distinct for: tactical, squad-based combat with exaggerated-yet-grounded scenarios. Get our couch-commandos to come back.
Won't happen, but it'd be nice. I think the team is under orders to fit the mold, just like The Crew 2 did when they introduced legendary CAR PARTS and made a looter shooter racer.
