Hi all,
Firstly, @Ubisoft, Mrs VorTechS and I are really enjoying the missions, and side-missions up to this point.
This is Mrs VorTechS' first foray into the GR franchise, and despite all the bugs we've largely been able to play without too many major issues.
I too am enjoying the game, more than I did Wildlands, and feel that some of the criticism by some of the 'so-called reviewers' has been a little harsh. (Although I can't decide if the removal of the 'calling vehicle on demand' is an issue or not. I mean, the whole island is on lock down, so perhaps it isn't, but sometimes it's just handy!)
It's no GRAW co-op, but I hold out in hope that one day you'll re-visit that formula because, you know, who doesn't like a 60 minute defend where you can watch someone get wiped out in the first minute and they have to wait 59 minutes having the 'Michael' taken out of them all-the-while just to gain an achievement!
Rose-tinted glasses given my investment into Tom Clancy in general? Maybe. But in some cases, they clearly haven't attempted to play the game to the depth we have (by no means seriously!) and have relied on producing reviews based on the beta and making things up by saying it's the same content churned over. We're 60 hours in, generally completing things first time round, and we're STILL finding new Side Missions. We've spotted some of the little things (like the little 'uns 'brum brumming' with the plane or car, or whatever invisible toy it is they're holding because of the rendering issues), and the water animation on the big paddle wheels.... and we've headed out and visited some of the remote islands, just to see what's there. (Only a couple so far, we still have missions to complete after all!)
But as a fellow developer in a completely different industry, I appreciate all the work that's gone into making this and still maintain I couldn't even do a tiny fraction of this myself.
I'm not going to lie though, it has been disappointing to see the number of bugs that it shipped with (I get it, shareholder pressure and the PWA type approach seems to be the norm), that feels like you're not keeping to time schedules or factoring in enough internal testing. The closed beta I suspect should either have been earlier too.
Anyway, we have a couple of requests that we'd love to see added please:
1) 'Join player / group' from the Character selection screen. (major)
Rather than having to wait to spawn, and then wait again to join the group, can we please have an option to jump right into the group from the character selection screen. By all means keep (on Xbox One) the 'A' button for spawning as the selected character into your own session, but perhaps have another option for popping up a list of friends playing the game and joining their session.
2) Bivouac animations (minor)
When in a bivouac, can we have an option to 'skip' the mini-animations please? You can skip the 'deploy' animation, but not the 'Preparations' one.
We are looking forward to the next major update to see what Stone gets up to!
