Base Jump Impossible | Clunkiest Game Ever

I realised early on that this is another AC Unity (unfinished game). But one thing has me really frustrated because I love that feature. Base jumping doesn't work at all. I got the skill from the skill tree but no matter what I do it wont open parachure when I basejump. it only works from heli.

    any tips??

Yeah I’ve had nothing but successful faceplants...

Basejumping is truly broken. I did find a very small fix. If you're on a significantly high part of the area, and you have a sharp cliff or edge of a building or tower, if you stand next to the edge and press spacebar without moving, I've been able to base jump fine with this method. However, it doesn't work on most places you'd probably want to base jump. It's very frustrating and LAME. Additionally, I've never been able to actually base jump with this method. The character hops over the ledge and immediately pulls the parachute. I can't freefall in the direction and pull my parachute last minute to avoid detection.

I have the same problem. The whole parachute mechanic was so much better in WL.

You don't do anything like you used to do in Wildlands. If you can base jump from a ledge, just press the space bar while standing at the very edge. If you can't base jump from there, the game won't let you. You don't have to run forwards, jump, lean back & press parachute like in Wildlands. They simplified it I guess. Stand on anything tall like a box by hand rail on top of a building for instance. Just press the space bar(default) and you'll jump & lean back all at once. If the ledge isn't tall enough, you won't base jump.

This is incorrect - there are spots where I have successfully base jumped from, but it is a real pain to try and get the sweet spot on that ledge as the character movement is too clunky and imprecise to nail it 100% every time. If base jumping does not engage, I run back 10m, run back that spot again and stop. If you manage to stop right before the ledge, it will allow one to jump. One cannot reach that sweet spot position by simply tapping the movement key slightly, as this does not actually move the character. Tap it too hard and you lawndart off the cliff.
Best place to test this out is at the Sunken Clipper Bay Bivouac on top of the cliff.
If it is jumpable, the game won't necessarily let you unless you can stand in the exact sweet spot that is not apparent to the player. The same goes with those swarm drone obelisk things. Climb on it, walk all the way to the top, and try to base jump from there. I managed to get it working once, and other two times I plummeted.

I also remapped keybind for base jump to another button than space. It helped alot.
