There appears to be an issue on the PS4 (not sure about other versions) when it comes to using the rocket launcher. It seems that whenever I attempt to swap and try to unleash its destruction on unsuspecting foes - i.e. Wolves, enemy mercs, fleeing scientists,
... deer
... the game has a hard time with that. So far, I've only been able to use it successfully once, and that was after a great deal of mucking about trying to determine why I was having such a hard time using it. It shows that I pulled it up as a weapon, I hit use (L1) ... and nothing. Then, all other weapons seem to go inactive as well.
While tough to explain, it's almost as if pulling out old reliable causes my soldier to immediately lose their place in life and become a top secret soldier who suddenly chose to be a pacifist at the worst possible time. I am unable to aim down a scope, swap weapons, or even swap the launcher back for grenades or other items instead. My character can still move, go prone, and (maybe?) fire their weapon - but I haven't tried the last one since I was trying to make a grand entrance at the time.
The only way I have been able to find that fixes this issue once it happens is by fast traveling to either a bivouac or other section of the map that is open. Then, everything seems to be working fine again.
Has anyone else experienced this? Other than fast traveling, anyone have any solutions on how they may have fixed it at the time?
Loving the game so far. Although this is a minor gripe, it would be nice every now and then to blow the hell out of something simply because it sounded like a good idea at the time.
And those deer are dangerous...
