Yeah, the community keeps rehashing the things they want to see. Nothing much has changed in those things.![]()
Ideally I would like to see some more of a dialog with the devs or whoever is working on the game. Some of us participated in a technical test of the Editor, but that was pretty much near the end of development. Would've been way cooler to have provided feedback earlier when not everything was set in stone already. But then again that could be considered a risk for Ubisoft, chance of info leaking out.
Far Cry doesn't seem to be a game that gets supported over a longer period of time, so I guess it may be considered more of a niche. Especially from the map maker angle. So guess we'll have to see what the devs come up with this time. Though multiplayer with more game modes makes total sense, I hope they manage to fix and expand on scripting for multiplayer. That'll be a game changer, even if I prefer PvE myself. Maybe a mix could be very interesting.
Interesting but also worries me a little.
A free-to-play map creator sounds great. Except I've never played a free-to-play that wasn't full of expensive microtransactions. If Ubisoft does something like selling a Rainbow Six asset pack or weapon or vehicle skins, then I'd be okay with that. If however I see a powerful weapon locked behind an expensive paywall then I'll be concerned.
That being said, I hope if Far Cry Frenzy is real that Ubisoft puts some real effort into it. Could be spectacular if done right. Lots of new and old assets, new and old game modes, and the ability to port our old FC5 maps to Frenzy. But I guess we'll have to wait and see if this rumor is even true or not.
Just some things at the top of my list. that I didn't see mentioned. In order of importance in my opinion
1. Give jumping a cool down and spam penalty on height and forward movement so that a 3rd consecutive jump almost immobilizes a player. other penalties could also be used such as ads speed hipfire spread when jumping
2. give option to turn off takedowns and remove take downs from the front as an option.
3. Team specific out of bounds to stop spawn camping on objective maps.
4. out of bounds zones to create ceiling limits choppers and planes. how high they can go
5. option to remove gamer tags when firing shots or ability to see gamertags through walls
6. allow team spawning as an option with no spawn protection
7. suicide deaths result in one point towards enemy team for deathmatch type gamemodes
8. damage values for explosives. they are way to powerful in fc5. should be a high and low setting. high could be like it is now. low could require a direct hit at feet from rocket. this could help also reduce chopper damage to people on foot
9. reduce damage of vehicles vs vehicles so chopper vs chopper combat last longer and not one hit kill. can't shoot through the vehicle
10 increase fire damage significantly flame thrower so it kills in 1-2 seconds.
11. bow should be one shot kill anywhere on the body
12. allow permanent objective markers to be spawned and unspawned for each team
13 more vehicle options trucks and boats with grenade launcher turret. tanks, blackhawk helicopter with miniguns. weaponized singleuser watercraft, uav, armed uav
Far Cry 4 had a hovercraft but when you got out on water it sunk, Far Cry Instincts Predator had a hovercraft with gun for water and land no sinking, I will get around to doing a video of Far Cry Vehicles.Originally Posted by Nasty_-_Nate Go to original post
We need Cross Platform Map Sharing with all maps that are a set budget size which can be played on all platforms just one map file and all platforms grab from this same area so if the map is updated all platforms get to enjoy the update. (If PC also has a bigger budget then so be it I have no problem with that)
Cross Play Support in multiplayer would be great too.
Dynamic weather could be a setting so the weather and time of day can change while playing the map if this is turned on.
I have been considering making a video of vehicle and weapon comparison from all Far Cry games.Originally Posted by Fallen-Champ Go to original post
Nice video from Sam Plays who is on the Xbox One side doing videos, play sessions and map building contests, some good topics in there.
Using the Far Cry 5 Mod Steve Botter created we have some unique options where we can use Copy To Clipboard and then Paste the copied items into another map which is an amazing thing to be able to use so long as the original creators are happy there items are been used (luckily lots of the community get along and are positive about sharing when credit is given)
Also the latest version of the MOD has some Community Creations where things are made using other items, unsure how long the process took but Steve managed to make most of these count as just one item when in fact they were made from 100's of items - he said that although the would count as 1 item the engine still has to render all the individual items still.
Moving forward there is always the issue of stealing other peoples creations so seeing the Tank have SETHO-1's gamertag name in the text with the item was really cool Ubisoft should look at this and have people create things for the game from other assets as they have been doing then have a community area like what Steve created where anyone can download these assets and use them in their maps.
If the creation has the gamertag of the creator and the area we download them from could have a download count so they know how many times they have been downloaded maybe even a link to published maps they are used in and a comments area where people can leave feedback or request items to be created that would be superb.
Damn used my old account yet again - wish there were a way to delete it.
I would love the option to be able to un-group / break apart some items in the editor as default even if it was in an advanced menu, it could be too much for new people to the editor - too confusing but for those who have been building for years I am sure they would love this feature.
