Simple Question about breach as an attacker

I just stared playing breach as I usually stick with dominion. So as an attack am I suppose to capture zones or boost the ram? What is more important? I've only won one game as an attacker but haven't lost a game as a defender. So either the game is busted or I'm doing something wrong as an attacker.
It seems kinda unfair that the attackers have to deal with high damage never ending Pikemen, commanders, waiting at capturing zones, and boosting the Ram while the defenders just have to gank. Is it suppose to be unfair?

the defenders definitely have the advantage based on the simple fact that the attackers share a pool of lives. as attackers, prioritize capturing each capture point first, then babysit the ram once thats done. and try to grab the flag whenever it spawns. thats all the attackers need to do to win. capturing the zones helps the rams progression on its own, babysitting the ram will increase its speed, if the entire attacking team gets with the program then theyll minimize the lives they lose. unfortunately, many attacking players seem to think babysitting the cauldron room is more important when at the end of the day the ram will regen most of the damage the cauldron does anyway. not factoring in player skill, if the attacking team stays together to take the points and then defend the ram theyll be fine.

Breach is actually heavily biased towards the attackers when it comes to random players. If both teams play as full teams, or the defenders are playing as a premade then this can change.

I've found the easiest and quickest way to win is to focus exclusively on the archer points. They help protect the ram and keep it moving. If the defenders are bad you can cap them all quickly and as a bonus take the cauldron, but the cauldron isnt needed. If you ignore the archers and boost the ram, far fewer pikeman will make it back to the ram once it docks. This forces you to babysit the ram or itll spend half its time blocked.

Once the archer points are taken you can split your time between capturing the flag or boosting the ram. If you've taken the points quickly the cauldron shouldn't be an issue in terms of damage. The ram only dies if you ignore the archer points, or if you take the points and then proceed to ignore the ram while the defenders keep it stationary.

Stage 1 the ram can take almost half damage before it becomes a problem in stage 2. 12 lives is the minimum you want at the end of any stage to go into the next one comfortably. Capturing the last archer point also helps to lure out the commander so even then its important to capture it and make killing the commander easier.

OK thanks! I would have thought boosting the Ram through the Archer points would work equally as well. Guess not. Defenders don't seem to have to deal with pikemen as much nor really do anything but gank and capture the shield banner.

I play a lot of breach and find we win defense significantly more than we win offense. I always hear about how Breach is attack sided, but we must win nearly double our defenses than we do attacks. There's always a guy on attack that throws lives you can farm.

I got like 1000 hours on breach and here is what I have learned as an attacker in random order:

Attacking can feel harder but the exact same can happen on defence. what it comes down to is which team is communicating better [assuming skill level is equal across the board].

If both teams are extremely coordinated then defenders had a blatant advantage because nothing forces them to play objective and they are un-punishable.

The banner is 30% of the match. if the defenders get it than they could have considerably more time to hack away at your lives or beat down the ram. The main reason to get it on attack is so that the defenders don't get it and maybe in that specific match they are really focusing on the ram instead of kills.

Try to always follow a teammate around unless you are keep very close track of enemy positions and are certain you won't get hunted and ganked.

Sometimes you have to sit around for 45 seconds waiting for a res. If you mash buttons until you respawn then you're life stock will get smashed

Try to let teammates know you are coming to revive [LB+RT+X if on xbox like me]. But don't make empty promises either or else you are wasting precious time.

You get 44 lives total [I think, 24+16+4]. Expect to lose about 16 lives per the first two phases and then you are in the final phase with +/-12 lives.

If you have 16 or more lives in the final phase your win is basically guaranteed assuming you have roughly 10min

if your ram is at the gate in the first phase and you have 16 lives remaining you are in extremely good shape and don't have to worry about going out of your way for revives. The focus should be entirely on either boosting the ram to prevent too many cauldron drops, loosing lives, or losing time.

if your ram is at the gate in the second phase and you have 24 lives remaining you are in extremely good shape and the above statement applies.

Dive bombing the commander is not the smartest idea unless you are really good at handling ganks. Obviously it is hard on the lives and time if done poorly.

DO NOT fuel team battles unless the banner is involved. Most common ways to lose as an attacker is for everybody to keep rushing to a team battle just in hopes to save their teammates or revive. This is a perfect opportunity to capture ramparts, boost ram, or check for banner without somebody interfering

The banner spawns at 26:59. the banner in any phase respawns every 241 seconds [basically 4 mintues]. The banner in phase 2 will spawn 181 seconds after the ram destroys the gate. HOWEVER the countdown does not begin until the HUD readjusts and shows the next gates health. and the new rampart points so you can add another 5-10 seconds onto that.

Balista can be a powerhouse in locking down the banner in a team fight on the ram. It makes it basically impossible for defenders to pick it up and run off with it.

Literally the rampart in the last phase is 10 billion percent useless to actually capture as the defender minions spawn regardless and will even respawn archers after being captured by attackers. You can clear it if you want archer help to soften centre minions and even the commander himself but standing there just to cap is a massive time sink.

It is VERY important to capture all ramparts as quick as possible as the archers will work away at the defender minions as soon as they leave their hidey holes. The cauldron obj will even prevent defender minion spawns forcing defenders to have no autonomous help with clearing the cauldron which usually means they will be unable to dump cauldron every 30 seconds and can't just run in and do a quick dump after spawning.

The guardian is key in banner fights. If you go with a full team you can quickly snipe him for his boosts about a minute before banner spawn and use the speed to escape all danger as the banner carrier or even to catch the defender with the banner. Obviously you can use the rest of the buffs to smash the enemy team and take the banner unchallenged as well as they will all be respawning.

When boosting the ram you should have one guy on the ram to maintain 2x speed while the others spawn kill minions. If the minions get too close to the ram your minions will lose focus on the ram and you go back to normal speed. A lot of heroes are absolutely garbage at minion clearing so always put the worst minion clearing hero on ram boost duty or cauldron camp.

I can't think of any more advice at the moment but i am sure this helps

This is helpful thanks! I've copied it to my phone to memorize the particulates for later.
The banner timing is very helpful. I always seem to be at the wrong place when it arrived.
