go to geforce experience find the game and click the wrench icon and select your Resolution and screen type and under the resolution there is a bar move it all the way to performance then change the graphics options when in game and then quit the game 100% then start up the game again so the textures you changed take effect

don't touch the Resolution or the screen type fullscreen windowed or borderless from within the game

make sure that the green dot is all the way to the left

Did you try setting the desired resolution through %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Ghost Recon Breakpoint\GRB.ini and making the file read-only?

That file is how Experience sets the selected settings.

@simpsonstake2, Your fix did not work for me.

I just get a borderless window mode that is a size of 1280x720, my main screen resolution in nvidia control panel is still set to 1920x1080 (see link below) and the Aspect Ratio and Resolution are grey out, still unable to change.

The problem looks like the game just does not see what your system settings are i.e main screen or multi-screens settings correctly, even if they are set to 1920x1080, it just think yor max resolution is 1280x720.

go to geforce experience and not nvidia control panel

move the green dot all the way left and pick the resolution you want and select the display mode

don't touch the Resolution or the screen type fullscreen windowed or borderless from within the game

borderless will still be grayed out but it will be what you set it to in geforce experience

when in the game you should change your graphics settings but not your Resolution or the screen type

    same here
doesnt work, even with geforce experience
I have a multimonitor setup with multi gpu - 2 Monitors (75hz) on rtx 2070 (for gaming) and 1 monitor on Intel HD for Booting and Quicksync for OBS - problem on both monitors, on primary and secundary
thats the only game with this problem !
all my games works, on both monitors

with breakpoint I have to maximise the window mode for 2560x1440 - and only 60hz
(monitor works with 75Hz and g-sync - problem also without g-sync)

only if I switch monitors to 60hz, then it works
    its really beta status

star citizen is alpha and that works !

wildlands works also good, but that needs more cpu and doesnt use gpu good

Sorry for thread necro. But I was facing the same problem connecting my PC to my 4K tv, so going through the solutions, none of them worked.
But, I did manage to fix the problem permanently.
go to nvidia control panel > Adjust desktop size and position > Select Scaling Method > set it to Full Screen instead of aspect ratio.
    Hope this helps.
