I do understand that there is some kind of re-spawn needed in the world and I can also life with a group re-spawning, if it wasn't completely cleared. But come one, entire outposts? Even if you don't die from the enemies inside??? And not only that. No, even the whole loot in that area is gone, that had dropped.
I have been clearing out an outpost, which did take a while and then just died because of trying to use a ladder to climb down, which in turn didn't work and I just fell down. This is where the statement 'Play with friends or suffer' can be applied. But not due to the game play, difficulty or anything else. No, because of all the bugs and design choices.
I mean okay, fine that was a bug what killed me, but honestly this is right out a bad design. An outpost should stay clear, at least for a while and we should NOT spawn hundreds of meters away from that position. And those things didn't just happen once.....
Those are just my two cents.... *vent*![]()
I understand that it sucks to have something like this happen due to bugs (its happened to me and my teammates a few times, but oh well), but the world should definitely always reset upon death, it would take too much away from the already nearly nonexistent challenge if it didn't. Hell if you were doing a mission where you needed to hack a terminal or something and cleared just a specific path to it and died it would be pretty dumb to be able to just go through your cleared path again.. It also did the reset in Wildlands, so it's not like it's new either. It's also a pretty standard thing in the majority of games. Just my opinion.
I do agree with the scenario you described and it is more less what I said about groups. But if there was nothing left in the outpost, not even a turret, I still think they shouldn't just reset if you die by sources not directly attached to that outpost. In my opinion that has nothing to do with a challenge at that point anymore. I also agree about this happening in Wildlands, but that also wasn't a looter shooter. Even if this is only a 'light' version.
I honestly think it keeps you on your toes though. There have been times where I cleared something and was just running around all carefree collecting crap and didn't notice a patrolling set of wolves or something and died. And every time something like that has happened I've thought, "man why did I do that? I should have been paying attention" ... Not, I" can't believe the game is set up this way..."
