THIS IS NOT A RANT ~ THIS IS A PERSONAL OPINION AND SOMETHING I WOULD LIKE TO SEE AND WHY.
Someone may have said it already,i am not going to scour the entire thread to find out.
A 3rd to 1st person Toggle Switch,Like in Fallout 4 is for me something that I could appreciate very much.
I believe the framework for it is there.
I really enjoy the 3rd person view, and can live with the camera angles in open world game play.
So Why one would ask,Would I want a 3rd to 1st person toggle switch.
Quite simple.
I have big reservations that The Devs are going to change to laggy input and overall funky game movement mechanics that urk the living daylights out of me.
Mostly..like 98% when I am in close quarters.
When in the open world its fine and acceptable,as I have space and time to prepare and move and react.
But..the places where most combat take place that are important, like bases for instance..that is where I get a bit perplexed at times in near rage quit moments of being killed due to laggy wonky game play movement and reactions to my said inputs.
Again,I am not ranting,I am having to adapt to the play style the game mechanics are forcing me into.
The truth is I cant play like i want to play as advertised..
For the most part I'm fine with it and can live with it.
But..
There are a serious issues for me,when engaging hostiles and moving around indoors or narrow spaces and or confinements.
Trying to walk in between crates or a bike squad next to the road and recover some intel requires precise, at times dbl movements to align my player proper to actually retrieve it..
Its wonky as all hell. Period.
But I can live with it.
Just give me the ability to go into 1st person and move about when and if needed,by my choice.
This will hopefully bypass the wonky laggy feeling when I'm in CQC or open combat ,over running or stepping my mark when I already told it to stop,or find cover in the right position to engage targets..
I have been killed countless times because I am trying to gain cover but this dumb mechanic makes my player miss the mark and expose himself.
Due to this I have changed my game play and tried to find the way the game mechanics..aka devs want me to play the game.
Again.I am not ranting nor am I passive aggressive about this.
I am frustrated,that's all.
Having a 1st person toggle might make the above elements bearable and enjoyable.
Indoors will benefit from this as i can actually have a decent field of view in 1st person.
Right now I have my panoramic equipped,my aim sensitivity on high and am aiming into 1st person when indoors just so I can have a fluid experience and operate like a ghost operator.
So my suggestion is a 1st to 3rd person toggle switch for Indoors and the odd funny tight space that the game movement mechanics were not designed to interact with.
This is,bar the always online, the one aspect of the game that gets under my skin.
As I am constantly engaging in and with it.
It is the base fundamental aspect that engages me to want to play.
And I am giving it the benefit of the doubt, hell I am doing a far cry 2 here, where I am toning waaayyy down and taking it slow,
As its well known Far cry 2 hits that sweet spot when you slow down,as the game world and npc's are reactive to the way you play.
But far cry 2 for some of its faults had the input feedback to implement what i was planning and how I wanted to execute my strategies.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint just doesn't.
I fired up Wildlands and asualted an UNIDAD BASE IN GHOST MODE, and after a sustained fight of over 20 mins of wave after wave of Unidad mixed with santa blanca ,
I calmly walked out of Fob mob Jaguar..
It wasn't pretty and wasn't easy, but hell it was bloody engaging and fun and helluva challenging.
Wildlands had many faults, most were addressed, the movement mechanics were also a bit funky at times, but it is miles better than Breakpoint.
As I could actually do what I wanted my player to do.
When I wanted him to do it.
It is that simple.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is an Awsum Game otherwise, and to me looks visually stunning.
