They did this with Division 1 too, advertise as having survival-esque elements, then rip it out of the game but keep it a secret from the general public that might want an actual polished survival experience..
What it boils down to; buffs..buffs, buffs buffs.
Monster Hunter and a handful other games already nailed having survival elements without making it apparent to the player: Run and deplete your stamina a lot, Not eating etc, and your stats suffer but it won't kill you, essentially. (an enemy will likely kill you, because your health and stamina is halved- And hey, you're not plugged up to a tube with water/food so you gotta retreat and eat...)
Health regen is stupid; I half way expected that you listened More to the community and made the regen at least stop at one or two bars on Extreme, and maybe nerf the drops on the syringes because I'm always full, and death refills it all I believe?
Well; Granted I haven't played enough to run out of water, if its even possible; Seeing as I recall picking up water--- (again, automatically.. why is everything automatic, you're literally hand feeding me!)
So I don't know if you suffer consequences from not consuming any water etc. Fill me in on that because I'm too lazy to do the research.
The game starts you off with an injury, and it's the only injury I've had throughout private, open beta and release, I've heard people getting injured, but also heard its default to the same leg, which might be a bug but come on. How rushed was this?
To be honest It was the selling point for me; I even tipped my friends about a Ghost Recon experience with light rpg- survival elements, injuries and some realism that reminded me of the older titles like Splinter Cell.. Not Third Person Far Cry With a drunken protagonist barely able to walk!
Also, what logic do you even apply to the fact that the home base has a helicopter right OFF the bat and the Skell drones don't ever think about checking out the spot? A couple bikes and a car is ok, but I feel like they could've set up a mission around stealing/hijacking a helicopter, and maybe borrow the ship-calling bit from Assasins Creed Odyssey? That would've been a nice touch like, I'm actually moving up in this godforsaken world and can finally get around a bit quicker and SAFER. Progression!
Yet another note: Who requested a shop in the Camp? yeah, my immersion is completey ****ed, my butt is deeper than I thought, and better yet it's accepting crypto currency now. Welcome!
I would like to imagine that people that are fans of Tom Clancy are old enough to hold their own, and don't want you to doll us up and hold our hand to work, but I mean; seeing as I can't even get my character to turn the way I want I might actually want you to hold my hand? I think im suffering a stroke, help, and I need a new diaper, please! > it's hard having a bunch of vehicles and guns up me bum. Might also explain why I'm walking *** first out of cover most of the time...
Seen so many reviewers- and suggested posts about changing up the Extreme difficulty, but I think that's too late now even though it should have been the default survival difficulty, I feel as they could yet have added a new difficulty simply called Survival- akin to what Fallout New Vegas as F4 did..
Ubisoft; Please stop falsely advertising your games, it's starting to feel like you don't even know what you're making so how are we supposed to trust anything you're saying/showing us anymore? I want to believe, badly, but you're crying wolf on every release!
Sorry.
I'm losing my mind, I'm normally part of the silent minority but I've had enough.
I get it though, you can't please everyone, but it would be a start if you would at least try to hit the market you advertised for.
PS: I've got all the love in the world for the Devs, you're working hard and I can only assume you want to make great experiences and put smiles on people's faces, and I'm sorry you don't get to push your visions due to men in black, dollar bills and the most important part, unrealistic customer groups.. Bless you!
