I played a lot a year ago and just came back after a break. My rank is way, way too high and even after losing my way down to 3700 I still get slaughtered every match. Can sometime please set my rank to like 2500 so I can catch back up. I have no hope if it stays like this

Unfortunately I don't believe there's a manual way to reset your rank outside of the Seasonal Reset, so you would likely need to wait for that point.

Next season reset is in 27 days, though I'm not sure if season reset affects SR for those not in legendary. I thought it only dropped for those in legendary. Although maybe 3700 will become your new season high, allowing you to drop to 3000. But the floor is calculated based on the average of the current season high and previous season high, so you'll likely get less of a drop in SR. If you started out at 4400 when you came back, then the average of 3700 and 4400 is 4050, which means your new floor will be 700 below that, at 3350.

Your best bet might be to play as many PVE stages as you can to gather up coins and materials for upgrading your main deck. If you can do that, you might get a deck that is competitive at 3700, and start winning some PVP matches!
