I heard a lot of complain about how the looting mechanism actually work. So I started to think how can we improve it. And I came up with this:
Problem:
- When something dropped, you need to go for it. When you play as a sharpshooter it is really bad because brake your gameplay style.
- When you pick up an item you need to equip it. To do that you must open the loadout menu, pick the gear, equip it, and maybe dismantle the old one. Too many steps, and you find a new item every 2-3 minutes, so you need to do this too often. Not so perfect.
Solution:
- You need a new „Tactical crate” menu option in the bivouac menu.
- The dropped loot get in this crate instead of dropped on the ground. (Money also move into the crate)
- The crate capacity can be 300 (as the inventory now)
- Remove the looted item notification (Because this just prevent the player to concentrate the actual mission)
- New audio alert message: When the container is nearly full, the players should get notification about that (e.g: above 90% - radio message sent to a player: „Hey bro, there is lot of serious sh*t in your crate now. Check it out!” – or something.
- When you visiting the bivouac, you can find all of your loot/money in this crate. Your items sort by gearscore descending. (higher to lower)
- When you open the crate you instantly get all of the looted money.
- New options: „Mass dismantle”= you dismantle all of your items in the crate.
- New options: „Favourite” – You mark items as favourite, to protect them from mass dismantle.
- New animation for the loot crate opening – Player no longer pick out item from loot crates anymore. Instead of they put a marker into the crate (like Wildlands)
Why this new mechanic better than the actual one?
- Player could focusing the game. Player can focus the actual mission without interrupted by looting or picking up money, popping messages (look a purple item – look a blue one! …etc )
- The game become more tactical because players no longer hold all of the items in the characters backpack. Players must choose weapons on the bivouac site.
Story behind the „Tactical crate”
- When you leave the operation area your man are collecting some things, what you left behind. They move this things into the container.
Maybe not the perfect solution but I believe it still better than the actual one. I have many more ideas for the skill system, respawn mechanic and for the optimal AI behavior too. But I will post them in a different topic later.
I hope I could help, and as always: sorry for my English
