Base-jumping on PC Controller vs Keyboard | Forums

So I was so sick and tired of not being able to base-jump on PC with a keyboard (maybe 2 out 10 chance) I decided to plug in a controller and low and behold it worked every time.

Please for the love of God, fix this for keyboards!!

I got killed 5 out of 5 times running and jumping from sufficiently high cliffs.

I play on ps4 and find it much more difficult to BASE jump compared to GRW

On PC, I just crouch and press forward near an edge and press space bar once. If it does not work I re adjust and get closer to the edge and press space once again. Once you get the hang of it, it will work as long as the game calculates that you can open the chute without face planting on any surface.

If it does not work then find another edge that has a high rate possibility of the chute opening without hitting anything below you.

Once you get the timing right, then you can do a running base jump as long as you time the space bar on the sweet spot edge, if you fail then we know the end result ^_^.

It feels very very inconsistent. And when it does, most of the time I seem to be just diving headfirst into death from throwing myself two inches down into a jutting rock because Nomad apparently is too stupid to actually leap away from the cliff. Most of the time it's safer to just break my legs over and over while making my way down a cliff that I should have slid off and fall to my death (see, here is where the sliding would have made sense).

It shouldn't be this hard regardless of controller or PC keyboard. Jeez, in FC5 you could accidentally open your chute jumping from one platform to another let alone a cliff with a 100m drop. Why is it so needlessly difficult when it adds such a fun element to the game?

i only found 2 cliffs where it works (PC)
