I've been enjoying Breakpoint very much solo and with friends. Trust me there is a lot to like, especially some of the faction missions have been very impressive. I'm saving main and side missions for now until the game feels more stable.
Shop and loot aside, can we please give some focus to the open-world problems listed below. Many are very frustrating especially for higher difficulty players like myself and friends I co-op with.
Some urgent fixes for me are:
cover mechanics switching left or right not aways working along with aiming over cover.
Slipping on low gradients makes my ghost look incompetent, please raise incline/decline to more than a hobbyist hiker's ability.
General mountain climbing and manoeuvring is frustrating with weird with clunky animations that seem out of place especially when traversing a cliff.
NPCs can still fire competantly when being shot, see their reaction in Div2 it's far better and more realistic (sponge aside)
Base-jumping is a lottery and jumping (hit) areas need expanding. Something between Wildlands and FC5 (which was a little too easy to engage your parachute) Works on the controller but completely broken for PC
Sliding down ladders should be a lot faster than climbing down, the current pace feels the same. (although kudos for letting me use my pistol on a ladder, nice)
Rockets and grenades don't kill a heavy but an M4 shotgun at 15 meters does?
Motorcycle manoeuvring (PC) needs its own setting like cars, planes and choppers. There is also large inconsistency between different model motorcycle controls.
Faction mission: A Long Road to Victory. Cannot enter the driver's side or switch seats from the passenger. I'll try a reload of the mission.
Not so urgent:
Every light should be able to be shot out. Not just those indicated, I hate to say it but it feels lazy intentionally.
Downed drone loot sticking in inaccessible areas and up trees, the auto-loot doesn't always work. Maybe allow our drone to collect?
Choppers spawning directly over your minimap to be a nuisance rather than patrolling the map like wildlands. Draw distance far shorter than wildlands??
When inside and driving 'enemy' vehicles I'm still detected by everything.
Significant FPS drop on 1st bullet after bringing a gun to aim.
Unused vehicles still have a thermal reading.
The buff for rations don't make them a viable choice and neither does enemy threat to bother using them.
Most of this probably wouldn't bother me when playing on easy but to fight the lay of the land as much as I currently do on extreme can make gameplay needlessly punishing. I'm already 50hrs in with 195 gear score and these have been my general observations and frustrations. Thanks for listening as I only really play Ubisoft titles these days as i'm an open-world nut.
