They dont need to respond. It will sell millions because its yet another vast empty open world game with a very poor story and very poor voice acting filled to the brim with checklist gameplay and charging insane amounts mtx wise and that is what the kids seem to love these days.Originally Posted by UbiBrokenPoint Go to original post
It is scary how far ahead R☆ is when making open world titles.
I understand they don't need to but to give their customers reassurance their product will be fixed quickly gives more faith in the company as mistakes happen. Saying nothing or doing nothing is just as bad as saying "we don't care" in my opinion.
Rockstar won't put out anything with their name unless it's close to perfect. Recently their casino update (or RDR2) had a glitch kicking people off within the online version. A fix was implemented within 2 days (probably 1 if you take out the possible delay in the update reaching customers)
The only stakeholders the management care about are shareholders. If the game hasn’t sold to expectations they will make a statement at their next earnings call and probably blame it on competitive pressures or something lame.
It will be interesting to see how the game sells. I wonder if it will sell well based on the name despite the bad press and community reaction or whether that has a sizeable influence.
I expect the only acknowledgement we will ever get that this game was a series of bad decisions will be when the next game is announced - and the direction it takes is very different. Although some form of acknowledgement could come in the form of patches. We shall see.
What about RDR online then and that players said - it was almost unplayable at start?Originally Posted by UbiBrokenPoint Go to original post![]()
I think he’s probably talking about an overall more coherent vision and execution...Originally Posted by Wild-Recon Go to original post
yea like they have fixed the cheater / hacker problem the online game has ! seriously rock star is even worse then this company. the GTA online is completely made for you to buy their SHARKCARDS. if you never cheated money in gta online then you are a very very poor sod, who is just played as a target for the cheating kids.Originally Posted by UbiBrokenPoint Go to original post
RDR Online might not have had the most indepth multiplayer but once it was up and running was decent enough, I always judge a Rockstar title on its single player, anything after that is a bonus. Single-player was great perhaps not as memorable as the first but they created a lot of emotion around Arthur and the supporting cast, the story was well written and it had a great world for what it tried to portray with stunning views no matter where you were. It was an enjoyable experience and well worth the $60/£50 price tag.Spent about a month playing multiplayer enjoying most of it until it started to feel a bit repetitive. Still I felt that for 2 months worth of great entertainment for £50 was worthy of praise, I realise they got a lot of flack that it didn't feel like it had much replay value and was starting to lose players but I'm sure most were satisfied what they had gotten from the experience. I might return in a year or two and see how much has changed if it is worth another months of play great, if not I won't lose sleep. However even a game like that which is very limited was done beautifully and I take my hat off to Rockstar.Originally Posted by Wild-Recon Go to original post
Oh and if you think I am biased towards Rockstar, nope **** Rockstar for also monetizing their games. However at least they have the time to create quality games even if they too are infected by this toxic environment.
Yes I usually base things on the story mode of a game.
I never bought any shark cards, I enjoyed the game and spent a considerable amount of time to play and achieve 100% where possible. I can't complain with Rockstar purely because no other game has much story/offline content as those games and like someone wrote anything additional is a bonus.
My usual 3 games to go to are
Ghost recon Wildlands
RDR2
GTA
Normally the story mode is what I prefer than the online stuff but I understand others prefer Coop etc which is why I won't buy a game with internet requirement. I know there a HUGE thread about that lol
