To Anyone With Framerate Issues: Check Your GPU Core Clock Speed

    My System:

MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon AC
    GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
    Intel i9 9900K
16 GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4
    Video Driver version 463.48

I've been playing Breakpoint for probably ten hours or so and have had terrible performance from the beginning. Lowering the settings helped somewhat, but with my system specs, I expected the game to be at least playable. I had framerates in the 10-20 range for long periods of time. I finally figured out what was happening: my gpu core clock speed wasn't boosting to the appropriate level. As I type this, the idle clock speed for my card is 435 Mhz. During gameplay, sometimes the core clock speed would drop to (and remain at) 350 Mhz, where it should be closer to 1700 Mhz. I suspect that many others with performance issues are experiencing the same problem. I use MSI Afterburner to monitor my clock speeds.

And you corrected this how? GPU's are supposed to ramp up with load correct?

Are you using a g-sync monitor? Try disabling g-sync and restarting your computer if you are and see if there's any improvement.

I do use a GSync monitor. I have tried playing without GSync and I'm having the same issues. I figure I'll have to wait for another driver update.

    I7 9700k
    GTX 1080 Ti
    16 gb @ 3200
    144hz G-SYNC

Playing on 2k resolution with temporal injection OFF (i find better graphics with TI OFF) ULTRA preset with volumetric fog on low.
    70-80 fps depends on scenario.

Try manualy switching ur GPU to PERFORMANCE mode inthe nvidia settings.

No problems with the graphics. It runs smoothly and without jerking.

I figured it out. At some point, the slider for power limit % in msi afterburner was moved way below 100%. I feel stupid. I moved it back to 100% and everything is smooth again.

Just noticed your post, lol. Is your framerate above 60 most of the time?
