I was killed by a shot gunner while going through a doorway. He wasnt even in cover but because the games adaptive light system is trash it was impossible to see him, the only way around it is to turn on IR vision but why the **** should I have to turn IR vision on just to go through a ****ing doorway.
More people need to report on this specific issue too, it's absolutely awful... I wrote a post about this too, but I haven't seen many others...

And in regards to the night brightness, I made a suggestion that they have revolving moon phases, no moon, partial, and full moon and just have the ambient outdoor lighting adjust during each phase, would give it an incredible feel for immersion.

I have even tested this on an oled tv and the night time is still way way to bright. I have tried all different settings and it makes no difference either. The night time sky, the ground, surroundings are all way to bright and ruins the immersion of sneaking about at night time. The night vision goggles are completely pointless because of this. Please please fix this. I cant enjoy it the way it is at the moment.
spot on and nigh vision is totally un realistic also it to way to op, I call it perfecta vision because you can literally wear and use it in day light. They need to go back to what it was in closed beta.

I was having the same issue then turned my HDR white balance setting down to about 25 and everything started looking good. Think that’s what it was called, it’s the top HDR slider.

You realize that is realistic right? white out and black out are part of entering a dark space or a light space from a dark or light space. I agree it is a bit to extreme meaning it should not be a total black out but, should be a little bad at the threshold. as for ir, just run it all the time they mad ir so arcade it works in daylight. Snow will mess you up some but for most part I don't even notice transitions for night to day.

Yes it happens in real life, but not to as exaggerated an effect as in the game currently. Also, the same effect is currently happening when looking from one interior space to an adjoined interior space of the same lighting level, so the game is NOT handling the effect correctly.

this I agree with a lot of the effect of this has to do with how long you are in dark or bright space however. i.e. walk in dark movie theater and turn around go back out side in bright day light immediately. White out is not horrible and you can see without squinting. Then sit and watch two hour movie in same dark room go out side bright day and you will look like Jackie Chan and white out walking out is horrible. In game this will be very hard for them though if they wanted realism they would find a way. Until then they just should tone back the black outs and white outs just a shade it is slightly over exaggerated.

I am going to laugh about this post all night. Thank you that was epic but, sadly true.

There are some great improvements to the lighting in Breakpoint. However, I agree 100% that night is too bright.

I like to play stealth and do my mission at night. I did this in Wildlands and the dark Bolivian nights added so much immersion to that play style.

And Night Vision is just a green filter. Absolutely no added benefit.
