    Returning player...wanted to say hello.

    Self explanatory, I guess.

Was a huge The Division fan, played all the closed and open beta, was playing day 1, and it was pretty much my go to game for about 18 months.

The music, the core mechanics, the lore, the setting...everything was great.

Yes, it had problems...did it have problems.

    But, it was almost there.

Anyway, in the end I couldn't face re-running the same mission over and over and so I left, while it still felt like a positive experience.

I'm late to the party with the sequel, clearly, as I wasn't home much.

I'm hoping The Division 2 builds on the story, though with my "avatar" being a mute (anyone else think it borders on ridiculous at times?) I'm still sceptical.

It looks great (on ps4 pro, good monitor), feels pretty much how I remember, so I'm hopeful.

So, I'll be in the DZ soon (still level 30?).

No spoilers, guys, if you can help it; but can anyone recommend the good gear sets, weapon types and combinations, any meta tactics that work etc .....you know, seeing as you know what works and the specific types of enemies and environments I'll be encountering as I head towards the story completion.

Thanks for any help, and I'll see you all in the Dark Zone soon.

sigh.. were to start the game is great and you will enjoy leveling to WT5, the RNG is set so the casual player and the hard core grinder get the same dumpster type of gear. And the DZ.... not what you will like, sorry to burst your bubble early. But Id rather be straight up with you than you play like 1000 plus hours expecting a change soon. I held on for seven months before I just started play the forums until the improvements the DZ come. Feel free to DM me and ask away at anything you like. I am by no way saying do not play it, the game is great, but if your love is the DZ... you will find D2 lacking for your expectations.

I must admit, I wasn't a huge PvP player back in the original.

I did play it, and I still feel the whole "going rogue" concept was one of the best multiplayer conceptions in recent gaming.

Co-OP was something else I dipped into, but I'd say 70% of the time I was a solo player.

Welcome back. Have fun agent. Its a great game which of course has its flaws but they all do. DZ is a little different but they are working on it and we all know TD1 didnt hit its stride until year 2 so the future is bright.

    Cheers, Moe.

    I remember you from before.

Definitely looking forward to getting stuck in.

Did they do away with named gear sets then?

Hopefully you remember the good Moe!!! Or at the very least the lesser a-hole moe!

There are a few named sets but IMO they are underwhelming at the moment but my play-style is limited so dont take my word on that. My guess is we will get alot more in year two when they can start charging us for the dlcs.

The LZ is much improved and not a barren wasteland like before but the DZ's have been split into smaller maps so now we have 3 of them which really isnt working at this point but like i mentioned they are working on it and it will get better. If you like the pvp part of it that is still there and easy to find in the smaller maps but if like me and like to pve in the DZ then that gets a little more hectic as you cant really play the cat and mouse game as well as in the first but its still ok.

A ton of changes coming in the middle of the month and hopefully they will all be positive. They seem to be listening on most issues but of course we wont always agree on the outcome of the changes they make but they gotta do what they gotta do to keep the grind alive.

Hello agent, I'll give you some tips I wish I had when I started.

Take all of your characters to a point at which you can get enough shd tech to unlock more inventory space. You'll want to use them as storage mules. You'll want to keep various gear and mods on them to make sure you have space left on your main. They are increasing the stash space in TU6, but if you like making different builds, it still won't be enough eventually. If you only like running 1 type of build, then ignore this.

Take one of your alt characters to a point where you can craft skill mods. This way you can upgrade the crafting bench on your main to 500 and still have a way to get low level skill mods. You'll understand the importance of this later whether you like playing 1 build or many.

As you hit level 30 and progress through the world tiers, do not worry about fine tuning your build, just get to WT5 and worry about it then. As you advance from world tier to world tier buying gear from vendors or crafting it is the easiest way to increase your gear score.

This isn't necessary, but saving side missions until you're level 20 is a nice way to get xp chunks as they scale with your level.

As you level, dismantle everything you can instead of selling it. It's not worth much until WT5, but the mats will come in really handy later as you want to craft things. Only sell if you absolutely have to.

As far as meta, TU6 will overhaul almost all weapons so just about any weapon will work for whatever gun dps build you want. The only exception is shotguns, but that is entirely dependent on your build and depends on who you talk to. Imo, I like using them and they work perfectly fine imo.

As far as skill meta, it depends. Some skills are better than others. This would take too long to explain, but some of the better ones are chem launcher, cluster mines, pulse, and firefly (blinder).

If you're in a hurry to level up a specialization, you get the most xp from missions.

Obviously there's a lot more advice, but this should be a good starting point.

    Good luck you filthy rogue

    I guess I didn't actually specify...lol.

I meant the original game, and that I was returning to the franchise, to see the continuation of the story.
