So I did this and this fixed it for a while (bug returns, right now I'm able to call my drone, but night vision does not work - last time both were not working):
1. Teleport to a biwak
2. Deploy biwac > Tactics (right now I'm Sharpshooter [level 9], having preset 1 and 3, 3 is selected)
3. Switch to Panther [level 10] > Create new preset 2 from preset 1 and select it
4. Exit biwak > Check if drone and night vision works > nigth vision not working > back to biwak
5 Delete preset 2 > Create new preset 3 from preset 1 and select it > Exit > Check > NV still not working > back to biwak
6. Select Medic [level 4] > Create new preset 3 from preset 1 and select it Exit > Check > Working - Hooray...

But I'm on my way to level 10 Sharpshooter...

7. Biwak > Tactics > Sharpshooter > delete all presets > create new preset 2 > edit this one a bit > leave biwak > everything is working (but not sure for how long)

A bit frustrating but better then no drone/NV

Presets causing a hell of a problem and PvP seems to play a part in all that.

I was killed in Camp Tiger, now NV is gone again

This issue is caused by the perks list, i now fixed my Sharpshooter too.

happens every so often to me, but I think it's server wide lag as if you wait 5 mins etc, it fixes itself...

I tried every key on my keyboard with no response is why i say it is/was lag.... once it cleared up i went on to complete the Wolfe Camp.

Having the same issue here, i tried everything, since the patch, it's even worse. The Drone is only working in Ghost War, that's a scandal !

I am having the same issue on PC with a controller and keyboard. Tried to fast travel, change gear, swap classes, swap weapons, nothing will fix this. Even tried going into ghost war. This happened after I played ghostwar for the first time

this did happen after a played quite a few rounds of ghost war it seems.... no more drone use... cant fast travel fix it.... cant kill myself fix it.. cant logout and fix it.. cant change the key assignment and fix it.. and finally cant restart the entire game and fix it... i verified my files also which did nothing either... its just perma broke for me... totally ruining my play style...

So this may sound silly but it seems I can have the drone issue present itself about 50% of the time if i equip my binoculars and use them for a little bit.

Tired all three drone fixes on ps4 and none of them worked. And I did play ghost war last night prior to update and logging today. Went in as assault used all classes and left as sniper. Can't use drone one assault not affecting my other classes

I have not been able to use the drone for four days now. I’ve tried wiping solo wiping with the team fast traveling restarting closing the game multiple times seeing that it has been four days now that doesn’t work. I’ve tried deploying it while aiming. Nothing seems to bring it back.

I’ve played ghost war a few times but the bug did not occur after ghost war. It occurred when I was playing with a friend during a random side mission at some point. I went to the next one and noticed I could not use the drone.

In ghost war if I pick up a drone I can use it. It’s almost as if the game thinks I did not do the first mission that gives you the drone and it acts as if I don’t have one in my inventory.

Playing ghost mode and using the drone does not fix the bug in the open world.
