I'm having the same issue.

After PVP'ing the game doesn't allow me to use the drone anymore - or at least, the X key but I checked my control settings and it's still X.

I've also noticed that I set my "shoulder perspective change" to another mouse button (I have a Razer Naga Trinity) and now I can't use the side mouse button to change - I tried to reset the config but GRBP doesn't see that button anymore as a option (I push it but it doesn't select it)

I've done all the suggestions of quitting, repairing, logging out and back in - all of it, nothing works to fix the issue.

Also cant use my drone for about 4 days now - happened after ghost war.

I've tried everything in this thread all the way to a clean install, nothing works.

I can use a drone in ghost war still but the button to deploy is ''X' and to exit the drone, the game says 'B1' (a mouse button i binded it to) - so this is weird. Ghost war allowing me to deploy with the original button although i have another one mapped. but nothing works on sg player

I HAVE A SEMI-FIX that has worked for me a few times.

I had my drone key command rebound to F1, completely overwriting the default “X” input. Whenever my drone become unusable, somehow pressing X again will deploy it - even while dismantling weapons in the inventory.

I'm having this issue when using sync drone shot. Maybe the game thinks my drone is connected and bugs out somehow.

Also experienced this after being detected by spy drone's or EMP'd and I get jammed. My drone will be disabled and then it will recharge back up but bugs out and can't be deployed even if the meter is fully charged.

As for the issue, it has been reported and we are working to get this resolved! There is a large patch coming to the game on October 15, 2019 to resolve many known issues as well as issues that aren't present on the list at this time. Thanks for the additional information on the classes everyone! Every little bit helps!

just read the patch notes ( [RARE] Players who transition from PVP to PVE could experience a loss of Tool Items in their loadout
STATUS: Will be addressed in a future patch during Episode 1.)

i have seen many episodes of the drone no longer working and experienced this myself. wonder if future patch is tomorrow,? or in the next? the drone is a pretty important part of the tool set for the game.

i don't feel this issue deserves to be put off, unless there isnt any idea how to fix it, you should be warning people that this CONSISTENT bug is occurring however.

Logged in today and the drone is not working on any of the classes. I've tried restarting the game several times, I tried restarting Uplay and that didn't help either. i tried changing weapons and fast traveling to bivac, i don't have the binoculars equipped as some people have reported that can cause problems as well. Tried everything anyone has mentioned that could fix it and nothing is working, Also tried rebinding it to F1 as TrueStallion suggested, didn't work. tried other keys as well and still didn't work

Restarting the ga,me doesn't fix this. Logging out - in does. I have had the bug twice and this fixed it twice.

Seems like there are many 'fixes' that work for certain people only, i've tried every single one down to a fresh game install. Still cant deploy a drone
