I'm having the same issue quite frequently (once per hour, maybe?). It usually fixes itself after a couple of minutes, even if I'm not doing anything at all, ie gong to make a snack and everything is ok when I come back. A couple of times I've had to relog to fix it.
The aiming fix sometimes work, but usually not.

EVERYONE IN THIS THREAD IS WASTING THEIR TIME AND THE UBI COMMUNITY REPS ARE LEADING YOU ON!
The drone issue was in WILDLANDS and it’s in this game because the developers CAN’T fix it. They are incompetent, disingenuous, racist (generic?) idiots who are there to collect a check - they don’t give a **** about you or games in general.
My advice is to download a new Ubisoft game launcher - it’s called qBittorrent and it works great!

What concerns me more, these issues (and many others) have added to the community and reviewer disappointing reception, for a game that has great 'potential'
If people were still playing Wildlands, I'd be there, I miss that game, but the community came to Breakpoint. I hope this can be salvaged, I wish they delayed Breakpoint, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot may be doing the right thing, but I hope not to late. but good on him delaying the release of Gods & Monsters, Rainbow Six Quarantine, and Watch Dogs Legion to put attention on this.
I'd expect if sales drop further, not only will it hurt the game style and tactics we came to love to be continued, but also the employment of creators and developers in it. If I ran a company that couldn't make the sales forecasted, someone is gonna fix it, or someone is looking for a new job.

Now, I am now four weeks without drone. Same bug as described.
Invested more than 80 hours into this game and one character (all classes at level 10) and none of the classes can deploy the drone, except para medic but this drone is not the same one and it's spawned with Y on German keyboards (Z on English keyboards).
Four weeks!!! And this bug is obviously inherited from Wildlands. It behaves same. This all speaks a language about Ubisofts developers.
It's not just a simple glitch which happens randomly. All chats (German and English) collected enough information to reproduce this error. The last patch didn't change it (and was at least not promising a fix for this). Where is the patch fixing this?
Of course it's easy for me to say that this is a priority one issue. But, please try once walking in the shoes of those customers being affected by this.
Once, you cannot deploy the drone anymore, this game is without a major feature. There are many glitches in the game which are not so important, like graphical glitches from time to time. Those get fixed, but this is not that important like the drone to explorer the near environment.
If Ubisoft would at least confirm the importance then I would try some more patience but they only say "developers are working for it" ...yeah, until I do not care anymore, playing the next title.

It seems that Panther, Assault and Medical characters have problems with the Drone and Night vision
Panther: The Drone and Night Vision Does Not Work.
Assault: Night Vision
Doctor: Drone
Sniper: It's the only one that works everything. Which makes it the only one able to use.
Ubisoft should give an official response, after so many days. I have almost traveled everything and it is not fair to be € 60 for a product that does not work in its entirety.
