Nobody asked for it, it kills immersion, it doesn't make sense within the context of the story.
It DOES make sense to have a little base you can work out from, but it's absurd to see dozens and dozens of players running around the place when the first thing you see in the game is your entire force get wiped out. Other players disappear in cutscenes, so why not get rid of them all together. This isn't The Division. Or is it?
The lobby system in Wildlands worked fine.
While I'm here;
Rewards should be picked up in game, not magically appear in inventories when you level up.
Why doesn't my hat stay on my head during cutscenes?
Why does my health regen when there are collectible medical items?
Why does my character's kit randomly change between cutscenes? One minute ammo pouches are there, then they're not, then it's different ammo pouches, oh look my backpack's gone, now it's back. Come ON.
Why are there weapon levels? Why are there enemy levels? Again. This is something that you already had working in Wildlands - stronger enemies have more armour, weaker enemies have less. Why have you gone backwards?
Who ARE these rebels on the island? Why is none of what's going on actually explained in game? Why do they have a cute little cave base? How does the cute little cave base have access to the latest and greatest in modern military weaponry and kit that I can buy with a made up currency?
Survival mechanics and stealth should be front and centre for this game - not reduced to pointless background stuff. The selling point of this title was being a special forces soldier being hunted behind enemy lines - it shouldn't be a looter shooter, nobody asked for a looter shooter, if I want to play The Division, I'll play The Division. Except I won't because I find it repetitive, contrived and boring.
At present, this is quite literally the worst Ghost Recon game ever made.
I cannot agree more. Wildlands was great because it was the 4 of you against the world.
I hate the hub. I hate everything about it. It doesn't belong in the game, it doesn't belong in the story, there's no sense to it. It does make sense in The Division. Not in GR where it's supposed to be you vs the rest of the island.
The rebel camp portion of it is fine, but everything about the "social" aspect of it with all the players waiting for ghost war, other players running around, etc. All needs to go away, what an absolute garbage addition. I hope they at least incorporate the option to turn off other players appearing. But the entire hub should be redesigned to no longer have any of the online aspects to it. Make it fit with how the story is written... Just a plain old camp with the people that are hiding out and no one else.
Not to mention they really need to change the always online requirement too. I believe there was another game recently that received backlash when they forced players to be able to log in in order to play and they luckily changed the requirement, I hope they follow the same route here and remove the always on requirement.
It's division 2.5 with the same crappy division 2 hippy communes. The NPCs need some work but unless they are in your group I don't want to see a bunch of AFK tools with dumb names standing around or doing lame emotes nonstop. Feels like it's more special ed than special forces.
Shame on you Ubi. Please, don't incorporate division into other games. i completely agree with other players opinions. Make ghost recon game like it is supposed to be. Remeber your wonderfull work with wildlands. Remake game from it's core.
1. Remove hub
2. make other 3 operatives (bots) like in wildlands. i would talk about poor game optimazation and etc.. but hey, i'll say my opinion in other section. Support pc.
Agree with all, the random ammo pouches in cutscens is really throwing me off, gear dissapearing and re-apearing in cutscens. They focused to much on gear scores etc, they didn't inncoperate the gear into the game properly my guess. a few things feel upgraded from wildland's but much feels like a downgrade.
It's there to help generate more interaction, maybe you squad up with those that are on. Yes, we get the story line is it's "You" vs the island, but with that logic we should eliminate co-op mode then right? Yeah there's a bunch of people in the hub, but who cares tbh, I mean you'd have to be pretty sensitive to get triggered by it. You can go about your business and larger ignore it, or you can stress about it, I choose the former rather than the later.
One alternative is to limit the amout of players shown in the hub, i.e. 8 players max per individual hub, i know this will increase server space etc but the odds on all 8 players in the hub at once is slim. And it negates the over crowded feeling we have right now with 50 nomads running around the hub.
