A Wildlands player's opinion after open beta.

Hello! First of id like to start off by saying that I did enjoy the game and I found it fun. I mainly did Ghost War but also some of the starter missions and of course the wolf camps including the level 200 camp. I am a competitive player who has played thousands of hours of games such as CS-GO, Rust, Apex, Arma, Battlefield, Wildlands and more, playing some of these games at a competitive / semi-pro level.
Some of these things would already have been posted on this forum, I just wanted to spend some time to think about the game and had a long chat with different members of the community discord about what they thought before making this.
    CO-OP & Ghost War
Loads of people were complaining about the level system, and I must say it truly is not a big deal, I in fact like it. Let me start off by telling you about my own experience with the system. At the very start of the game, your first missions are to explore the crash sites, at one of the crash sites you get to see the wolves who I believe were level 140. I decided it would be fun to test out the level system by trying to take them out with the starting pistol, I shot once at them showing myself just to see how strong they were, to no surprise i instantly died. I then proceeded to kill all the wolves with the pistol and never revealing my position, it was quite easy. The level system clearly does not matter and I feel that most complaints towards it are invalid. The level system simply just adds another "grindy" feature which I enjoy, it's not just to find the gun, you have to hope for a good level one as well.

Now here are my current issues with the game, first of all, please do something about the healing in this game. The health regen takes the whole realism and stealth away. It feels less rewarding when all you have to do after getting shot is take cover for a few seconds. Injuries should be more common and far more punishing. If you jump off a high place and sprain or break your body parts, it should take a longer time to heal. If you do loads of melee takedowns or climbing or simply get shot in your arm, your arms should be injured and your aim/shot should be slightly more unstable. Bandages should be craftable and not unlimited, you should be able to craft them form various materials or maybe an option could be to use leaves and vines as a form of bandaging. As for broken legs, I feel like you should be able to craft some form of stability frame to speed up the healing time, this could, for instance, be sticks and rope wrapped around your leg. Most injuries should be healable over time and it should heal faster when you go to the campsites. A suggestion could be to add these depending on the difficulty setting. If you are playing on extreme the healing time should be longer and harder to heal, injuries should be more common and crafting should be more required.

The AI in this game is something I feel could and should be improved a lot. I simply think that the AI are dumb. The AI should be more professional and play smarter, especially the wolves. Sure, when you are going full stealth the AI should be more by themselves or in a small group of 2/3 as they are not expecting anyone to be around. However, once the AI gets alerted whether that is by someone finding a dead body or a shot/explosion is heard, the AI should be going in groups of 4 or more together. They should be flaking in groups, clearing out sectors and providing cover fire for each other when pushing. There should also be wolf patrols, there is no current feel of getting hunted. The wolves know an elite solider survived the crash and is roaming the lands, they can't afford to let you get away. There should be multiple search units across the land, sea and sky. Wolves sent to your location by the UAV should come in vehicles and not spawn right on top of you. AI is what makes the game, I really hope you guys can improve the AI to create a more rewarding and realistic feel to the game.

Graphics, I do like the look of this game, but there are some issues. First of all, it would be nice if you could improve the draw distance and other general textures. When hovering over the water, the textures appear to glitch out (this happens to me and all my friends who have tried the game). Another issue is the lighting when you look into some buildings it's completely dark and you can't see a thing, then when you walk in it lights up or the opposite, when you look out a building at some angles it's way too bright.

Movement. Taking cover behind objects and walls feel kinda wonky compared to Wildlands, I really miss the feature from wildlands where you can simply shoulder swap by pressing the middle mouse button when behind cover. Would be great to see this return in BP. Some low walls your character does not even duck down to be in cover, your head will stick out a little.

FOV/Camera slider. The third-person view in breakpoint feels really low compared to wildlands, would be very nice to see a form of slider to slightly adjust it.

I like how your character syncs with your Ghost War profile, I like how you can run whatever weapons you want. However, I feel like some changes need to be made, otherwise, the game will just turn into sniper warfare. In Wildlands PvP you would always know what you are up against, would be nice to be able to get more information with your drone. When marking someone with the drone you should be able to see what gun he is currently holding as it will give you an indication of how you can deal with him. Another thing is the marking system, I don't know if it is a bug or if it is how it is intended to be, but the marking is just way too long. I have been marked for over a minute straight without being in line of sight of any drone or person. I have also marked someone and then proceeded to see him throughout the whole game. In my opinion and in many others, when marking someone the marker should instantly disappear when out of sight or drone being broken. A marker can be placed indicating that this is where he was. Once spotted by the drone you break it and instantly the marker goes away and you are free to go take cover elsewhere. The map automatically shrinks so its not like wildlands where you literally have to rush the last guy in order to not get a draw. This would make being the last alive have a slightly better chance of winning and it would make it overall more realistic.
Me being competitive, I love to do some hard-core parkour to climb up on different roofs/rocks that people might not know was possible. I would love to see some great spots that you can find and learn how to get to by climbing different things to reach the top. Such as the Unidad F.O.B. map in WL. At the defender side, you can climb up on the roof on the left side and have a sniper view through one of the barracks windows to the communication point. You can also climb on top of the hanger from the defender side giving you a nice overview of everything where you can quickly get a pick on the enemy team pushing.
Communication, in many of the rounds I played, the in-game voice chat didn't work. Hope to see this fixed on release.
I love how you can pick your teammates up and move them if they are wounded out of cover. However, I feel like it takes a long time to pick them up, so its kind of useless. What should be added is the Ranger Roll. Here is a video for reference https://youtu.be/KPrATJ-u5Rg?t=350. This would make picking up teammates more worth it as it is fast. You can run over Ranger Roll him then instantly start moving to cover with him. Drop him down and heal your teammate.
I would also like to say that I can see great potential in Ghost War being a competitive game that can be brought to pro tournament level.

Overall I truly have enjoyed the game so far, just want to see some changes and I think the game will be great.

Here are some bugs I found that need to be fixed.
This has happened to me 3 times so far:

    https://gyazo.com/19b5518b2372c72c67543ec1a0c8ad1e

A texture bug where broken glass floats after your vehicle:

An issue with the in-game voice system during ghost war. The in-game voice system simply doesn't work sometimes, this being for everyone in the game, not just a selective few.
People crash a lot in the Ghost War but not during the coop. I personally sent crash reports every time so I hope that helps. As well as matches randomly freeze sometimes (happened twice to me). Everyone in the game was fully frozen and couldn't move or do anything, but the in-game chat was still working.
Your character sometimes only climbs up 1 step at a time when climbing up a ladder.
When getting wounded sometimes your character bugs out. Picture for reference. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...5.55.38.10.png

    Community Suggestions
FOV/Camera slider. The third-person view in breakpoint feels really low compared to wildlands, would be very nice to see a form of slider to slightly adjust it.
    Ranger Roll.
Ryker side-grip. Offers better stability, mobility and control than other grips.
    Make health more complex.
    Make AI smarter and better.
Make the night vision more realistic (better for dark areas and make light affect it more).
An option to change shoulder view with the middle-mouse button behind cover like in WL.
    Add Wolf patrols.

As I said earlier, I do enjoy the game, but think it can become a lot better especially by upgrading the AI and health mechanics. Hope you guys in the community agree with what I have written if you don't please reply to the thread with why you don't! A special thanks to SeekingG and the breakpoint community telling me their thoughts.

If you wish to contact me about anything or have any suggestions you want to let me know about my discord is TriZ#1769 and you can find me in the Ghost Recon discord.

Nice thread, just like on my thread I believe we need wolf patrols and the feeling of being hunted. And I really hope we get to see a ranger roll and side-grip attachments as well.

A great topic hilighting some areas where improvements can be made. Triz, this is genuine, well presented, constructive critisism. Well done.
