I see a lot of complaints about this being a "looter shooter." No one said you have to pick up every item that is dropped. You can easily choose to not loot anything or only loot the boxes after clearing a base. No one said you have to check inventory after picking up an item. No one said you have to upgrade or swap weapons the second you get them. You can easily wait till you complete your objective/mission to return to base and then upgrade your weapons/change loadouts and manage inventory to maximize play time and efficiency. You don't have to use every single mechanic in the game. Don't like the idea of gear score? Easy - keep low level weapons/gear and don't upgrade them. You can attack a level 200 Wolf camp with level 1 items if you really want to. Just a little bit of thinking outside the box can go a long way towards implementing some elements of realism on your own and make the game more challenging.
You missed the boat here completely; the complaint people have is that the game is designed as a Looter Shooter or Role Paying Grinder, it's not a Tactical Realism games in any way what so ever, as no realistic tactics are required to prevail, the game even obviates them.
Saying 'you can use realistic tactics' is like saying you can pretend your pickup truck is an airplane, sure, you can pretend, but that doesn't satisfy the reality that your truck is not an airplane, and that you're just spoofing your way around the game pretending...
This may be a state of mind that satisfies RPG fans that after all love pretend, but Tactical Realism fans want a game where realistic tactical squad maneuver fire is the only way to prevail, and arcade tactics fail -- turning up the difficulty or ignoring the core RPG design does not accomplish this any more then pretending does...
No tactics required? Go attack a base by running in Rambo style guns blazing and tell me how that works out. Put your panties back on and go away with your "role paying grinder" bs. There is literally 0 grind. Literally 0 need to swipe a credit card or pay to win. If you don't like the game - don't play it and move on. Problem solved. It's really not that hard. A second grader could figure that out. There is no need to add your toxic, mindless drivel in every single thread. You aren't convincing anyone to not play the game by acting like a whiny tool. Get a life man. An intelligent person doesn't spend hours upon hours *****ing about something - they move on to more productive activities.Originally Posted by hoak Go to original post
Love your words here. Applies to both camps though.Originally Posted by JHitTheB Go to original post
I agree, that's how I playd teh open beta. But you gotta admit it's kind of like closing your eyes because you don't like what you see.Originally Posted by TONY-NOVA Go to original post
You realize the Assault class not only allows for guns blazing playstyle but kinda actively encourages it, right? Turns out, it works pretty well.Originally Posted by JHitTheB Go to original post
BTW, considering chilling with your overly zealous defense of the game, OK? Great, you like it...mo need to attack those with problems with it.
