    Its different...but maybe not good.

I sank a lot of hours into Wildlands and was a big fan. jumped into this beta not knowing what to expect and here are my thoughts:
    1. I can sort of see the emphasis that they've tried to put on survival and there are some interesting mechanics towards that end. However, I felt less like I was surviving as a Ghost and more like I was running around like the chubby, out of shape veteran I actually am. That's not fun to do in real life much less this beta. Perhaps if I didn't stumble so often or get winded so quickly that would help?
    2. The camera controls, how to explain? I'm one of those weirdos that inverts my Y axis when I play. So one of the first things I did was go into the settings to switch to my preferred play setup. What did I find? More options than I've ever seen in a game for inverting the Y axis! and even still, I could not switch it for using a drone or flying a helicopter. Why not make it less complicated? I didn't have to do that in wildlands I don't think. And why would I want to invert the camera while walking but not while using a drone or flying? That made the beta ALMOST impossible for me to play.
    3. Quests or mysteries or whatever. This was hard for me to keep track of and that could be from not playing enough yet but it would be helpful to me if the game automatically resolved these things. At one point playing with a friend we finished a mission, and a screen popped up and I had to manually click resolve. What for? It just doesn't feel fluid or natural.
    4. Jon Bernthal is rad as hell, except when you try to convince me that as an operator he's running around with a revolver in combat? while still in service? I know reality shouldn't interfere with good storytelling but why can we not figure out if this game is realistic with it's available gear and premise or if its an 80s action movie that uses silly gun choices to lend personality traits to characters?
    5. More bugs than starship troopers. Between issues with inventory management showing weapons that I can sell but then not showing up as equipable to clothing not loading after bivouac. I was surprised at how many bugs I encountered and regret not writing them all down so I could share them.
    6. I like the bivouac mechanic. I like the classes and perks associated with them.
    7. Shoulder swapping. I'm gonna have a seizure from how often the camera changes shoulders in this game. If I get near a piece of cover the camera moves. I got real tired of having to hit a button to put the camera back where I wanted it.
I guess I'll see when the game comes out. Right now there are more negatives than positives for me but I hope they devs can iron some of this stuff out.

Regarding point 1: I agree there are some tweaks that need to be made. I'm no veteran or athlete, but I don't fall down slight inclines.

Point 3: The mission intel and mysteries etc. do seem overly complicated and confusing. I'll probably get used to them and maybe even end up liking them, but it sure takes some time to figure it out. In general, too much time needed in menus instead of running around playing.

Point 7: There is an option for whether or not you come out of cover with the same shoulder you went into cover with. It might be hard to find with so many options, but it's there. And to the devs, even though it's slightly overwhelming to have so many options to sift through, they are appreciated! Options are always good!

I think he's referring point 7 as switching right to left while in cover and not having to move. I have to take a few steps to the left while in cover to face left. The camera shoulder swap button should make your character face left or right without moving in cover, but it doesn't work that way.
