Shutting down the servers on the morning of the last day of beta when most people have time available to play is pretty lame.

I understand it seems cold to say it but it was listed on the Global Open Beta Chart times. That has been listed for weeks.
Still I understand your point. Sunday was a great day for gaming. Specially if Football isnt your Great American Interest.

The Open Beta Release Version and the Retail Version are two totally seperate instances of the game. Also you had to buy the $100 version or better to get the early release time. Most will start the game on Friday.
