I never got the feeling playing this that I was behind enemy lines are fighting to gain ground/gain equipment to survive. I never got the feeling the Wolves knew I was on the island and were hunting me down. The end result here feels like a complete 180 from the gameplay reveal all those months ago.
There's no tension present in Breakpoint, it feels like a vision that has been repeatedly watered down and retooled to not make any waves with the Wildlands fanbase and honestly that's a terrible choice. As a result Breakpoint feels like a game made for no one. It's a shame because I love the gunfights and the idea of the injury system and crafting to survive there's just so little emphasis on those elements now they feel completely pointless. I truly hope the dev team can gain some confidence in their initial vision and right the ship here because currently it's aimless.
Personally I felt yes i do agree to some extent they wernt agressive enough and intentionally got the into a fight with wolves but I do feel that they were still hunting me down sometimes but it could have been more implied or more difficult to avoid or fight against just to challenge players.
Yes, doesn't make the enemies actively seek you out. They're still just hanging out in their outposts/bases/checkpoints etc. If you get hit you're pretty much dead in a burst or 2 so the injury system is even more pointless in that mode. It's not strictly about difficulty, the game is mostly passive in its interaction with the player which feels opposite of what the initial intention was.Originally Posted by Auron1_TLM Go to original post
I thought it was okay on extreme solo but the threat never scaled as I added coop buddies which seems like a missed opportunity. Just the same amount of NPC presenting the same threat but I have four times the firepower with buddies and not even close to max level on extreme.
Weird that I felt more threatened by the ai and wildlife in FC5 than this military shooter.
I played the different betas over 30 hours only on Extreme mode with aim assists and minimap disabled. The game is still relatively easy, you barely have to use the healing system, and at no point you feel like you are being hunted.Originally Posted by Auron1_TLM Go to original post
I think the game has a lot of potential which Is why I'm posting here. I totally agree that the game needs to be more difficult and have more emphasis on survival. Playing on extreme difficulty was not nearly as hard as I thought it would be, in fact, I found it was quite easy. Maybe a hardcore difficulty would be the answer. I would also like to see more character customization options. There are too few hairstyles and it would be cool to see some sliders like in The Division 2. Darker nights would also be an improvement. In most night engagements I really didn't feel the need to use my nods. I really enjoyed the RPG elements of the game and I think this game could be great if it was a bit harder and more tactical. My apologies if all of this has already been mentioned. I didn't read all of the thread.
Seems like the enemies are dumber in general compared to Wildlands, but also have supernatural senses by not seeking your last known position. My friend got spotted which meant I got rushed by 2 shotgunners. The terrain isn't interesting enough for any gunfights which could've supplemented the danger, but it only felt empty. Like you said they're Ghost killers who know you're on the island. Why are they disregarding your existance? They don't even chase you much after you get spotted. With the survival additions this game somehow feels empty. Plus the looter shooter model always felt like a lame excuse for a quantity of content since its just recycled unlocked that increases your stats while also increasing the enemies' level so they always end up being the same amount of challenging.
