I know it is impossible to implement every suggestion, as the saying goes, "Try to please all, you'll please none." With that said this is going to be phenomenal release. Without futher ado, here are the pros and cons:
PROS:
- Options! You've given the player options. Personally, at least on my 1st playthrough, I enjoy traversing Auroa on foot. Perhaps on 2nd playthrough or New Game+, I'll take the option to fly the unfriendly skies.
- The new animations flow very well. I was pleasantly surprised.
- Thank you for the small details, for example, when our character snaps to a surface and they use their hand to brace, etc. Well done!
- I've no gripes about the camera. When it zooms in I can take in the details of the character when zoomed out I can admire the scenery.
- Thank you for implementing leg shots for Sentinels to get information.
CONS:
- At a bare minimum could we have at least one aggressive animal type near water? The reason for that is to keep the player on their toes. Sure there's the drones and helicopters but the player can easily avoid these. The attacks can or should be a toggleable option.
- What happened to the Wolf attacks? I was spotted by a drone and easily dispatched a helicopter. The Wolves presented more of a challenge and genuinely had me searching for safety. If there's no pressure on us, how can we feel that "Breakpoint?"
- Since Holt mentions that we should remain hydrated, we should be able to drink from the canteen at any time. To only use it sparingly seems unrealistic, and drinking at any time just looks cool
- Story-wise perhaps we can "see" the havoc that the Sentinels wreak. For example, there are corpses near campfires.
These can also serve as a place where we attack the Sentinels. A sound cue similar to the scream from Wildlands can alert us that the Sentinels are terrorizing the Homesteaders. I mention this because in the wild I usually get supplies from Homesteaders instead of Sentinels. I realize this is a choice, however, seeing the evil that Sentinels do can compel a player to engage them more often. *(These engagements are rewarded with ammo/supplies, of course)*
- Sentinels could also wreak havoc by killing nearby animals. Some players may not like killing animals but may take what is dropped. This could also serve as an incentive to engage the Sentinels.
- Just as we see the havoc on the ground, Sentinels in helicopters could also attack Homesteaders out in the wild, in our vicinity.
- Please add the ability to change sexes during gameplay.
- Instead of the eye symbol (at least it looks that way) after getting supplies from that area could we get a checkmark, similar to Odyssey instead?
