    Confused by the Loot

The leveling/equipment leveling system seems to be broken. I can take on anyone and any amount of enemies I want, no problem, and my equipment seems to have zero meaning at all. I don't need to upgrade anything. What's the point of all the loot? Is this broken, or bad design? Or am I missing something?

It seems that the normal enemies scale with your Gearscore.
I did some side missions before the main mission and reached Gearscore 41, allthe enemies in the main mission I did last where around 40.
In my opinion they created the Gearscore to prevent players from trying to take out the wolves and drones to early. In fact, entering a "red zone" is the only place in the game where the Gearscore is mentioned. I expected some Regions on the map to have a Gearscore, but at least in the beta this does not seem to be the case.

Besides that, the Gearscore seems to have no impact on the base stats of your weapon. As far as I can tell a GS1 Weapon doesnīt make more damage. But there may be hidden factors that I canīt see. Headshot seems to be One-Shot with most enemies. I unlocked the Wolves G28 Scout and without the silencer I am able to one-shot drones. (Not the big ones).

Thatīs why I did stop to care about the gearscore anyway. I have two favorite Weapons, the Wolves G28 Scout and the TAVOR, which seems to be the best AR in the game in my opinion. I keep them until I get a new one with a higher Gearscore. Had no problems with that tactic.

As long as you are swapping your clothes and your Pistol, your Gearscore is rising anyway. The Tier from the Classes and your level rises the Gearscore, too.
The only thing the Gearscore seems to affect is the drop rate of green and blue weapons. With level 41 all my Clothes are blue, my weapons are gray, except the G28, which has a yellow star (itīs more effecitve in the dark).

As soon as you unlock the blueprint of a weapon you can buy them in Erewhon at the shop at your Gearscore. No need to wait for a drop when you want to upgrade to your Gearscore.
