Hi Ubisoft - I have some very serious concerns of the game right now, and I want to share my CONSTRUCTIVE feedback, as I want your game to be successful
- AI: while improved from Wildlands, can you not create some synergy with your fellow developers in the Division 2 that utilized a more sophisticated AI set of actions? The AI seems incredibly simple, and really need a material improvement. At the moment, the meta is to simply sit at a far range, snipe the majority of the NPCs, and expect very little response in return. The AI needs to fan out better, call in more reinforcements, and utilize more units such as drones and helicopters to find you. We should be getting flanked more often, and the AI should be taken cover quicker and more effectively. In one situation, for example, I was at the top of a tower, and ALL of the NPCs were just sitting around at the base of the tower, and I could pick them off one at a time as I went down the stairs. You really need to give the AI more options to counter your moves.
- The BUGS: there are so many bugs in this game, and this really should have been caught by your quality control staff and/or management should NOT have launched this game into OTT, closed Beta, or open Beta with these many bugs. I can state that about 90% of my friends opted to NOT purchase the game after they saw the quantity and severity of the bugs in the game from watching various people play on YouTube and their own experience in the Beta. This directly created the perception that, while it may still be a good game, people need to wait AT LEAST 6-12 months for everything to settle properly, and only buy the game on sale at that point. This is a MISSED opportunity for Breakpoint to build momentum, for as you know Cyberpunk 2077 launches in 7 1/2 months, and it will be VERY DIFFICULT to gain gamers' attention after that game launches.
- Lacking challenge & immersion: the game was advertised as being hunted by Wolves, behind enemy lines, and a strong stealth & survival mechanic. However, certain things really ruin this. A common complaint is the # of other players in the Bivouac; please get rid of that asap. If we want to seek coop gameplay, we can certainly do so. Secondly, we need to be hunted a bit more, as the game is very empty relative to Wildlands, and I do not feel the fear or thrill of being hunted. Thirdly, the Wolves need to be stronger and more intimidating, and they aren't. We should have more helicopters and drones searching for us at all times, and we need stronger elite enemies, similar to the Hunters in the Division 2, which had special skills and were quite smart. Heavys are a good edition, but too slow and easy to take out.
- Graphics: clearly some improvement over Wildlands, but on a 1080ti, I was expecting a lot more. I suspect that you have some optimization to do with AMD & Nvidia, and I would really push those vendors to implement the optimization asap. I hope that Nvidia, in particular, does not drag their feet in optimizing their videocards, as the majority of us have Nvidia cards, and we really need to see better graphics here.
I am NOT going to go into the whole loot debate, as personally, this is not an issue for me, but I will comment on the Gear Score. Gear Score is NOT relevant here, for it creates a false impression of your readiness for a particular area, and you should really consider modifying this.
If you fix these key points above, you will have a better game, and a satisfied community. Thank you for your efforts so far.
This was comment seen everywhere on the last game. You have made a graphically stunning fun game to then ruin it by putting trader rounds in every gun. Tracer rounds should only in mounted heavy calibre weapons like an M2 Browning and heavy machine guns. Or It is a constant distraction. The fact they are being put in sniper rifles is unbelievably stupid. You need to remove tracer rounds completely or at the least make it an option that can be turned on and off. The ai at times is basically using aim bot even on normal mode and shooting into the jungle and still hitting you without a clear line sight. The vehicles over steer far to much.
just watched this YouTube video as well -- amazing detail and constructive feedback:

After thinking deeply about it overnight, and consulting with friends, I've decided to cancel my pre-order. I am still very interested in the game, but I simply cannot accept a game in this poor state. There are too many bugs, and too many issues, even for a Beta. I fear that this launch has harmed Ubisoft's reputation and that of Ghost Recon overall. I will reconsider in 3+ months to see if the developers salvage this game or not.
I don't see how the AI are better than Wildlands???
- They don't react to bullets
- They charge you in the open like in Wildlands (don't forget Wildlands were ex mercs whereas Breakpoint Wolves are ex ghosts - why are they charging you and not using proper tactics like suppress and flank???)
- They don't even look for what was suspicious when the detect meter is triggered but not entirely full whereas Wildlands AI do
- They don't even cover well when they run for cover - often I've had them run behind a tree only to be not covered and completely clear for me to fire at them
I honestly think they are worse and are only made more difficult by the Gear Scoring affecting how many bullets they take and how accurate/deadly they are to you. Lazy way of doing AI.
It's definitely sullied my viewpoint of them after playing their games for 18 years. I'll never trust them again. Not just the bugs but the deceitful marketing as well.Originally Posted by Deltium Go to original post
AI and World engagement are my biggest issues.
The AI is just a rinse repeat cycle of alerts, where if you wait a few moments everyone feels safe again. I mean, really - could we not innovate on this for once?
What would you do in a situation where you saw a dead ally on the ground. Walk blindly towards it; or take cover, call others to your position and advance on the body while surveying your surroundings? Do developers believe that adding a bit of smarts to the enemy makes them less fun?
There's just no feeling of life in the world. Everything is just a POI, whether it be a camp or installation, or a few guys fixing a broken vehicle (I mean, how bad are their engines?!) and it's basically "see a vehicle on the map, drone recon, shoot, repeat."
Are patrols not a thing? Could we not just happen upon skirmishes with the rebel forces and soldiers?
Totally agree the AI are so disappointing. Regarding the broken bikes, this is a high tech island with drones and behemoths yet their bikes are always broken! Lol.Originally Posted by Tihocan Go to original post
What also I don't get is you have AI that patrol a base so they know who of their crew are around. You pick them off 1 by 1 yet those patrolling despite not seeing their buddies around anymore act like it's nothing and not at all suspicious. Where's the thought process of the Devs here?? I think the only way they know to make "more difficult" AI is to make them more accurate and deadly not smarter to out think you. Pretty poor!
I agree completely with this on it being easy. I was just sitting outside of a town and then fire a few shots into the enemy ui and wait behind a rock as the would just run to me and I would kill them all in a big line . I also downed the lvl 60+ Behemoth on regular when I was only ilvl 47 solo on a field medic . it didn't take long and it was silly easy . those things are not scary at all . I downed one on advanced as well and have little to no problems with it and all were solo
