PvP issues/thoughts
Firstly I have over 1000 hours in ghost war wildlands and here is my personal opinions/feedback.
1. Movement is still slow and awkward - my character is too sluggish to react even when getting shot. In wildlands you could respond quickly if you had a hit marker but this feels unrealistic in how slow the character moves
2. Weapon feedback - hard to tell if you are actually hitting an opponent at all as the sounds don’t register (could just be the beta though but wildlands was a satisfying sound if you headshot etc)
3. Cover - this is the biggest issue, it’s far too sticky and awkward. It won’t allow me to position myself in the right spot. It’s like all cover has predetermined areas you can sit.
4. Shoulder swap in cover. This needs to be added as having to peel yourself off cover just to change angles defeats the purpose. Again this may be on oversight for the beta
5. Classes. Ghost recon while people complained about the restrictions to classes no one can argue that it didn’t create a sense of tactics and discussion regarding what a team needs for each map. Having played breakpoint I think that has been lost. No one is on comms saying “we need a panther” I feel tactically breakpoint is missing the fundamental that is Ghost recon. Just a suggestion but each class should only have 1 primary. Maybe assault has AR’s, panthers get SMG but extra speed etc.
6. Dual primaries - again this removes even more team gameplay and from what I have seen it’s created more of a camp fest. The meta seems to be find a spot, pull out the long gun, circle appears and then you grab your AK12 and head off. Tactically it’s taken a step back from wildlands when it should be taking a step forward.
7. Bullets travel way to slow
8. Picking up bodies. Yes it’s cool but it’s not much difference in time to revive. Also the animation to drop the body after picking it up and the inability to use primary weapon while having a body on your shoulders makes the function seem useless.
If anyone else has anything please feel free to add to this but after spending hours on the beta I Actually prefer wildlands ghost war over breakpoint ghost war and that should not be the case. I think this has tremendous potential but in its current state and with feedback I have had from other players, you have missed the ghost war feel.
