    Some [Bugs] and [Suggestions]

Howdy folks. Will update this list as I play more. Game's running a lot better than it did back in the closed beta, very happy about that. I want to add a few suggestions at the top here because I think they could be really important.

I'm aware that, most likely, a lot of weapons are available in the shop early on, and you get a ton of money to spend because it's a beta/demo. I really, really hope this is different in the full game. I feel like in this setting I should be working my way up from busted *** bolt-actions and farmer shotguns, not wandering into a cave of resistance members who happen to have an insane armory. Right now there's no feeling of progression other than numbers going up. It's boring, guys.

And, if you're looking for ideas for your first content update, PLEASE add weapon care. I feel like it'd pull so much of this game together, being able to sit at the bivouac and strip down your weapon, clean it, oil it, and reassemble it. Trudging around swamps and firing a lot of rounds, guns need care, and this is the perfect game to do it in. You have all these preparatory measures you can do, but not that? You even have all the assets already for disassembled guns, since they get exploded in the gunsmith view. A mud/dirt shader for the parts, animations for cleaning. Craft/buy your own gun oil. Gun malfunctions and jamming having a crappy weapon. It's a lay-up! I will literally mock up the interface for it if you want.

    Bugs:

    • Aiming bug - options to change sight/suppressor/fire mode/etc were active when not aiming and inactive when aiming. Also meant that drones could only be deployed whilst aiming, and unable to change between 1st person and 3rd aiming modes. Only fix I've found is to return to the title screen. Very annoying, happens often.
    • 'Faction Missions Tutorial' blinking yellow prompt remained stuck, even on the title screen.
    • 'Invite other players' blinking yellow prompt. If it's intentional get rid of that, or at least make it less blinky and annoying.
    • Climbing a ladder makes full blown noise. No option to climb quietly and surprise guys in towers, since they always hear you coming.
    • Enemies don't use ladders, ever. Really lame.
    • Switch shoulder view button doesn't work when you're in cover. It's also really sticky and annoying trying to get your guy to turn around when he's against a wall.
    • No XP for manually deactivating drone emplacements. (The ability to do that should also be an unlockable skill too, tbh)
    • Hitting Space to confirm weapon deconstruction equips a new weapon if there is one in inventory. Just clicking OK is a workaround.

    Suggestions:

    • Need for UI placement options for ultrawide displays, so we can have the HUD elements at the sides. (Custom placement of HUD elements would be ideal).
    • OPTION TO TURN OFF CAMERA INTERFERENCE. I DON'T need the camera to hug me whenever it pleases because I'm inside or because enemies are near. Please, let me turn that off. Especially true for vehicles, you can't look around without the game grabbing your head and forcing it to point forward. LET ME LOOK WHERE I WANT.
    • Adjustable camera distance a la Red Dead and GTA would be awesome, too.
    • Tap Tab to toggle your objectives display. HOLD tab to toggle the full HUD view. That way we don't have to have everything or nothing; often I just want my minimap up without the objectives in my face. I know when you're near hostiles the minimap springs up for you, but how about you let me decide when I need it instead? (I'm aware that there's an option to set the minimap to always on, but I'd still like to be able to turn it off sometimes)
    • Prone camo mud effect should stay on your character a lot longer.
    • I really don't like how easy it is to find bivouacs. As if just scouting them from afar wasn't easy enough, you find them in intel as well. Just makes the whole place feel small and disconnected when fast travel is so easy.
    • 'Climb ladder' should be a press, not a hold. Stop making everything a hold button action, please.

Oh yeah, another suggestion that might be a little ranty:

"Distraction grenades" are the dumbest idea ever. Walker is an ex-ghost, right? The first thing he's gonna say to his dudes when he has Ghosts loose on his island is 'Oh yeah, and if you see a little firework display thrown nearby, just hit the alarm. Yeah I dunno if they'd be dumb enough to use those but you never know.'

JUST. THROW. ROCKS. It's in every Far Cry game ever. It works. It makes sense. They don't have to be manufactured or even carried around. They're on the ground. It makes even more sense in this 'survival' setting. Just throw a damned rock to distract someone. Give me a dedicated 'throw rock' button, for the love of god.

(And while you're at it, give me a whistle button, too. Let me lure guys to me for sick takedowns. You did it in every Far Cry, every Splinter Cell. It's a staple of stealth games, guys.)
