THE AZRAEL DRONE
The Azrael is designed to scan the world from the sky, so it can send a patrol of Wolves to a location if it spots any threats. Instead of spawning the Wolves on top of the player they should've appeared within the maximum distance of their visual and hearing senses, hundreds of meters away from the player to make them seem they are tracking and analyzing the terrain, patiently using the four F's of combat; Find the player, Fix on his position, flank the player and Follow-through like Brothers in Arms.
The Azrael drone should have the sensory capability to spot any massive explosions causing by the Behemoth, aircraft, and vehicles anywhere on the island and should be closing at the explosion sites to investigate. The Azrael should also be able to use of tracking system like the Heatmap photo imagery tracking to track the player most visited areas such as the Bivouacs and would spawn Wolves within hundreds meters away of campfire sites to pick up on your tracks when you break camp or "a dusk-to-dawn curfew" forcing you to be more evasive when selecting Bivouacs and desired time before breaking camp.
The Azrael drone should also have a gunshot detection system that triangulates and conveys the location of gunfire or other weapons fire system using acoustic, optical, or potentially different types of sensors, as well as a combination of such sensors, consequently shooting at the Azrael should always give your position to the Wolves not too far away.
You are talking to replace the single line of code that the Drone currently seems to be (spam a drone each random minutes directly to the player position and is range < and not camoed value spam wolves) with a system that:
- Create flight patterns to each drone and tracks the position of several drones in the map along those flight paths, and modify those flight patters according the alarms o the patrols, attacks on the bases, recorded player activity, etc.
- Create a realistic system of sensorization to track variables to visual, thermal and sound sensors like obstructions, weather, foliage, sound, thermal and visual signatures of the target (silenced/unsilenced weapons of different caliber, colors of the cammo (those lovely red shirts that i'm sure they would sold in the shop), etc...
- Create a realistic AI for the wolves to be able to not just find, but flank the player and use correct tactics
- Create a new system for trails to allow the wolves to tracks the player (terrain type, climatology, running or waking, etc.)
That would be the way to properly implement the drones? .... for sure.
We have any chance to get that implemented ever? .... nop.
The whole game feels cheap in alll the aspects (the patrols are not even able to move) and you are asking for a very complex system to be developed to just the drones?
It's easier and cheaper to write the line of code that is currently in the game and use the "star trek teleport" scheme to put the wolves 10m away and kill you in seconds.
You make some good threads but with the way the game is, its highly doubtful they will get it implemented.Originally Posted by RepMan_5 Go to original post
It was better in Wildlands where reinforcements had to ARRIVE by car or heli not beam me down scotty type of way.
The minimum could even just be a Heilo flying of after they spawned (or some kind of drone Chopper for stealth) at least the would make sense how they got there.Originally Posted by TheReaverSpecOp Go to original post
Yes it would they could also use a plane to airdrop but i guess we'll just have to wait and see, this game could have been so much more yet it became something less.Originally Posted by bungyfreek. Go to original post
The magical stealth helicopter with match 7 speed that is godly omnipresent on the island to land the troops after 5 second of being detected anyplace anywhere?Originally Posted by bungyfreek. Go to original post
As realistic as the Star Trek teleport that we have now.
There has been some definite change (since the Closed BETA) in the way the Azrael and it's "QRF" is implemented. I'm on PC with M/KB for controls.
So far (fingers crossed!) I'm beating the Azrael (successfully hiding from it) about 50% of the time. In the CB--it was 100% detection (it even pinged me inside a freakin' building once!) followed by death (with a single exception). As opposed to the QRF spawning out of my ear in the CB; NOW the QRF is definitely spawning in further away; giving me a few extra seconds to E & E, or get ready to meat my maker!Once; I actually killed both "The Imperial Attack Droids" and 2 or 3 of the Wolves--so they're not as omniscient as they were in the CB.
I agree with the OP; the QRF should spawn in even further away from the player and/or take longer to get to the Player's location than it is currently! The other suggestions are great too, but as the other commenters noted----sadly don't see that happening.![]()
Bottom line is the player should have a good chance of avoiding a fight even if detected.
I've tried running and hiding, even swimming. The problem is the drones, they're on top of you from the get go and keep you spotted no matter where I run the ghosts will follow. One time I ran down a cliff and managed to get far enough but guess what the Wolves hopped on a helicopter and followed me. I managed to take the helo down and thats how I found out they were Wolves. Rught now this part of teh game is a pain, I jsut sit tight and wait to die so I cna respawn and carry on with what I was doing. really kills the fun.

Taking shelter in the same area from your most recent activities should not be a good idea.
The Azrael drone should at least have the capability to Fire Hellfire Missiles at pinpointed accuracy at your location, but will be equipped with a maximum payload of two Missiles.
The only way to evade the Azrael or any other drones should’ve been through the use of infrared id tags acquired from the enemy not some fictional spray for one particular character class. The infrared id tags will be valid for as long as the owner’s body haven’t been found and of course it will be deactivated when the owner fail to respond to radio calls.
