That's what did it for me too. Then I saw it in Breakpoint. Then saw Terminator in the year one and rolled my eyes.Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post
Great letter from a great guy, I know Ulukai personally and consider him one of my best friends,
But i have to play the devils advocate.
The Team has had the creative vision of Eric Couzian since Future Soldier (still my favorite Ghost Recon Title).
I too was there in that breakfast meeting with Yves and the other higher ups, along side with,
Mattshotcha, Bluefox, Rocky, Ulikai, Jason.
It was an honor, and i know Yves was listening..some changes were made, before release..changes we had asked
for through out the development process of Wildlands.
I also have notice changes and suggestions we had asked for implemented in Breakpoint.
Ghost Recon is changing..its a new Era of gaming and Ghost Recon is changing with it.
Some players simply hate change.
Imagine, if we still only used Ghost Recon 2001 tools and system.
We would be stuck with a reticule only system.
We wouldn't have the camera control in TPV.
We wouldn't have a true sprint,
We wouldn't have a cover system
We wouldn't have a Gunsmith
We wouldn't have stamina terrain system.
We wouldn't have an Intel System,
I am mostly pointing out PVP related points.
But my point is still the same, game is changing,
Not always for the best..but its changing.
I know several of the guys working on the game
and their vision, you really think they want to piss off
the vets and the new ppl playing Ghost Recon?
Enjoy the game, if you don't just stop playing it.
There are lots of titles I will play..but then turn away from it
because i didn't enjoy it.
Believe me guys..the world doesn't stop for you or me.
I feel like i represent the Future Soldier Community as we all came up together
and are together still..rolling the PVP, i also hear them complaining but I also hear
the excitement like "No Class Restrictions, No Weapon Restrictions, Open Camera,
Evade Combat Roll, Improved cover System..."
Take the good with the bad guys.
Anyways great letter Jonathan..just dont take the changes personal.

Excellent letter sir.
It would be refreshing to turn on my PC and sit down with a community to play a Ghost Recon game that did not require me to 'Rank-Up' my character to access a weapon or optic.
Graphical advancements, audio tech and overall game fidelity improvements are enough for gamers of this franchise to be all in. Give me situational objective based game play that takes a basic level of strategy and iQ to solve and secure and I am sold. Give me realistic (to a degree) weapons and equipment that adds to the level of immersion and I will hand over my hard earned cash. Provide us with maps and environments that capture the players imagination forcing the use of transport vehicles, mission planning, insertion and ex-fill tasking and we will all cheer.
Tactical Shooters.....where have you gone?
Kudos for sending that letter!
I have complete respect for those that are passionate enough to seek their voices to be heard, particularly when they feel like they aren't being listened to. And I believe that in this day and age with the noise and tumult in our media it is our duty to seek to be heard - or in this case read.

Great letter. Sadly, I don't think it will make any difference, but we can hope.
I'm sure this will cost them a lot of GR fans, of which I'm one... can't be bothered with all this gear score/looter shooter nonsense. However, it may well bring across many fans of The Division, Destiny, etc., in which case they may not see a significant drop in sales and thus consider it to be a success. If that's the case, we'll probably be stuck with this kind of nonsense in future games for quite some time.
.....that was my hope back with GRW and lost what little I had left when I saw what they did with GRB. ......and I'm being completely sincere and honest about that. No sarcasm intended.Originally Posted by Ghost416 Go to original post
I really did feel deflated upon the reveal of Breakpoint and it only got worse with the gameplay footage and then finally my personal experience with the OTT and closed beta. Even so, I am still going to give the open beta a go but I'm doubtful anything has changed to the point that it will affect my overall disappointment in the game. We'll see though.
