    Well of course not!

But, those of you that may remember the crimson skies days and are partial to a bit of steam punk anime dog fighting might just be interested in this ?

    Sky Crawlers

There is a game due out on the wii also but I am not so sure that will fare so well.

Anime is by the same guy that gave us Ghost in the Shell innocence lost.

Some quality animation. Is it just me, or are the japanese obsessed with the Shinden?

^I wouldn't blame them. The question is, why aren't Americans obsessed with the P-55?

Actually I thought they were supposed to be P-55's at first... I wasn't really aware of the shinden's existence.

Probably because they didn't need some other "what if" aircraft to win the war.

Sky Crawlers was a very deep and dark anime, nothing like Crimson Skies. There vehicles were very cool looking, and barrowed heavely from differant "1946" aircraft of the day, but the setting is something compleatly differant. They also had a TA-152 like aircraft that the bad guy flew, and B-35 flying wings (see my sig) for bombers. Ultimatly, the story was not about the aircraft, but the poor soals that had to fly them. I cant say much more without a spoiler, but its a very good movie.

Hmm, never heard of it, and it's on Netflix, so I'll check it out, thanks!

I'm not crazy about Oshii's movies, often they're very slow and have a lot of talkiness that doesn't make sense and gets boring, but again I'll check it out.

Porco Rosso is a classic of the genre, and Wings of Honneamise isn't half bad either.
