Lack of Offline Playability in Breakpoint - an open letter to ubisoft
I someone else tried this...so why not...
Dear Ubisoft,
You have most likely noticed the general disappointmen across the internet from your single player / offline gamers regarding the sequel to wildlands losing it's "offline" playability in favor of now being "always online", due to all the division esque stuff being added. Just wondering why apart from the one small tweet back in May of this year about the game requiring an internet connection and a single tweet a bit later acknowledging the petition for offline support, there has been no further communication on the subject.
If someone at ubi working on the game could respond on the matter, that would be great as there's thousands of players on the fence waiting to purchase the game but don't want to because of the "always online" requirement.
There are many reasons for wanting "offline" support added back;
- not everyone around the world has 100% 24/7 and super fast broadband but may have a perfectly capable gaming pc or console.
- offline play means no distractions / immersion killers at all throughout the solo play.
- you can play the game whenever and anywhere you want with no restrictions.
- the game feels like it's yours and not "rented" which is what always online games are.
- the only disruption to offline gameplay would be a powercut.
Sincearly,
Ric.
