Going to use the F- word.It was FUN! Shocking I know. A set that doesn't suck.
Gotta give credit where it's due. Saw a build by Asciiadam on Youtube titled "Division 2: TU6 PTS | Bleed Build | Hive Update! Sadist!"
I took the idea and ran with it. The basis is pretty simple, 4pc OD, Fenris backpack with Spark, BTSU gloves. You want Fenris for the AR damage, he didn't have one. Mine ended up in the 8/ 6/ 9 range with right around 3k SP. Kind of ended up a Hybrid Skill / DPS build. Could use more Skill haste and less health maybe? OD rolls with quite a few Offensive and Defensive mod slots.
Running the Hive and seekers. MK 16 with Sadist, Allegro and Recharged. Use two "Charges" mods and one damage on the Hive for the best results. Adding Charges seems to lower the refill rate and add charges at the same time.
What makes this reworked gear set so exciting is that it feels like a Div 1 set. The set synergizes with the weapon talent to create a new and engaging playstyle, quite unlike the lame +10% weapon type bonuses of the Brand sets, or the confusing three pages of conditions needed to procc anything useful on the other gearsets. The bleed, the ammo collecting on reload and the explosive ammo just works so well. You have to keep targets bleeding to get the value out of Sadist, and the explosive ammo dropping. You also need to time your reloads to keep from running out of explosive ammo The bleed proccs Spark and the BTSU gloves buffing weapon damage and skills. If you can't keep a bleed procced your damage falls off. Very reminiscent of Firecrest.
This is what Div 2 needs, fun sets that give a unique playstyle and power to solo players but would provide group benefits as well (ie Sentrys call, D3FNC ect). There has been way too much of a focus on team buffing sets that absolutely suck if you are solo.... looking at you True Patriot.
To the Devs. Reworked OD is great, please more of these types of sets.
Yeah, you can also instead focus completely on the gun damage using wicked on gloves, as well some other chest or backpack with a talent of your choosing for for more offensive power, but seeing how the chestpiece can have explosive damage, you could switch your backpack for another talent of your choosing now
25% burn damage is pretty much almost nothing if you do the mathOriginally Posted by DavidBixby Go to original post
I have. I'm also including the fact that they are proposing flipping the utility slots to offense. Overall, my current pyromaniac build with 3 pieces of Od will take a 40% hit. I finally found a SB that wasn't centered around firefly, explosive and a attack drone and they neutered it basically useless.Originally Posted by xcel30 Go to original post
