Hmm... bit of a mixed bag.

    Good
Enhanced responsiveness for the main character so that the controls feel smoother. - Yes! Thank you!
Ability to cancel opening the chest. - Nice. I hate getting stuck on an operation. I'd really like any operation that isn't instant to be something where we hold a button down, and anytime we let go, it stops the operation as quickly as possible.
In Erewhon, the offline avatars standing around the table are the player’s friends instead of unknown players. - Ok, that's actually pretty cool.
Of course, ANY debugging is always welcome.

    Meh
Shopping in the bivouac. - Why? I don't hate it, but just... why?
Guided mode is now the default mode when beginning the game. - *sigh* I guess, as long as I can still turn it off. I'd prefer 'off' remained the default after the first Eagles Down mission.

    Bad
More helicopters distributed to grant greater ease of access to the open world. - Ugh. No.
Behemoth areas are now discovered by default on the tacmap. - Do not want.

Absolutely, remove the helicopters. I thought the closed beta was great in that choppers were RARE. When I lost the one from Erewhon I was on my own, using ground vehicles and it felt brilliant. There were way too many in Wildlands which made it too easy to get around. They should be a reward, not a guarantee in every village and hamlet.

The changes are really good (except that one) and the fact the Extreme difficulty "change" was already in, you could already turn off the red clouds so I don't get it. I still hope for the survival mechanics to be changed substantially as they're non existent.

Well the thing with the chopper might be to let beta players see more of the island in the short time the beta is online, but otherwise i dont think either that it is a good idea.
And the survival stuff together with realism i think you can forgot about that. especially if its hardcore survival you're looking for.

The good thing is you don't have to use the Helos. You can accomplish most tasks without them.

the changes was made to character animation, gui and not realy important things and this is good, but realy changes which was needed were ignored by Ubisoft, they are, kind of looter shooter, weapons and gear leveling, story (at this time the story is for kiddies), side missions, no realistic ammo types for diferent kind of weapons, no different sounds for every weapon, copy pasted enemies every 100 meters and so on. this is not REALY improvement, this is a step back into stone time. and I bet, on the release date 65% of people will hve bugs, glitches, BSODs, CTDs, broken savegames, redscreens and much more. and for that we must pay 100$?! I chanceled my preorder, because this is not more Wildlands, this is looter wild leveling division shooter ! imho

I think you'll see those other players regardless of having people in your friends list or not. To me it sounds like that thing will only determine who's around the table, not whether you see strangers running around your hub or not.

That was my impression too, a few days testing is not much time to explore everything otherwise. If you don't like the helis you don't need to use them.
