I know it’s a small thing but I just wonder if it might be tied to a larger glitch. I got my first PvP pack today and I finished just over 7500 at 7509. I only received 28 bottle caps instead of 30. I screenshot the time left for the next pack at just under 4 hours if you need to see the rank I was when I earned the pack. I’m sure you can check on my account though. Account name is Ether25. Just curious what might have happened. Thanks!
Hello there!
I have an answer to this one, as it's something I do get asked from time to time. The PvP packs are tied to the arena you first begin them in, so if you crossed the 7500 line (Way to go, by the way) while you're earned the pack, then it will have 28 caps as it's from the tier before. The next pack you start on will be tied to the 7500 rank because that's where you were when you started earning it. Does that make sense, I hope I explained it well enough. Let me know if I didn't, of course, and I'll try to further clarify.![]()
That makes complete sense. However today when I got a pack I started over 7500 and finished at 74xx (can’t remember the exact) and I still got 28. I was under the impression that it was tied to where you ended which looks like was wrong. Again, it’s 2 caps so it’s not the end of the world but if it’s indicative of a bigger issue I just wanted to point it out especially since today was still 28?
I think what she meant was that dropping below 7500 while working towards the pack does not lose you the 7500 SR pack as long as you get back over 7500.Originally Posted by Ether525 Go to original post
In the past, when I used to fluctuate between arenas 10 and 11, if I was in 11 when I started the PVP pack, then dropped below 6000, but got back over 6000 before finishing the pack, I would earn the arena 11 pack. But if I didn't get back over 6000, I would get the arena 10 pack.
I get that sometimes now, where I manage to reach arena 12, then when a PVP pack becomes available I start working towards completing it, but drop below 6500 back into arena 11, then when I finish the pack, it's the arena 11 pack.
That's not what the last post said. The last post said that the only thing that matters is the rank you were at when you begin the pack. So if you rank is 7500 when the empty pack becomes available. That pack is for sure a rank 7500 pack.Originally Posted by Cural42 Go to original post
If that is not the case then either Tollers response is wrong or it is not working as intended.
Armageddon08 covered it already but came here to say that isn’t exactly what she said. What you’re saying makes sense though if that’s the case, and maybe it is. But I intentionally waited until the next day to get a pack where I started over 7500 to test her theory and my pack wasn’t tied to 7500. Maybe the system should be tied to the rank you started with and we just found a bug. Hopefully it can get corrected. Let me know Toller! Thanks so much everyone for being helpful on this question
There might be a couple of inferences in what I said, but those are corroborated by actual results that I experienced on a consistent basis.Originally Posted by Armageddon08 Go to original post
Just earlier tonight, I started a PVP pack in the 6400s. After getting 3 phones, I brought myself above 6500. I then got 2 more phones on the next match, which I also won. I opened my PVP pack, and it was an arena 12 (6500 - 6999) pack. I knew this for fact, as there were 18 upgrade materials in the pack, as opposed to the 17 found in the arena 11 pack. I always count the mats I collect from PVP packs when I open them to confirm the numbers are correct.
In past PVP packs, I've gone from arena 11 to arena 12 on the same match that I destroyed the 5th phone, and every time this happens, I open an arena 11 pack. Last time this has happened was last night.
I have also had packs where I started above 6000, dropped down to high 5900s, then rise back above 6000 in the match where I destroyed the 5th phone, and when I open the pack, it is the arena 11 pack.
So, based on the above facts that I have personally experienced on a consistent basis, I inferred from what Ubi-Toller said to fill in the blanks, so to speak. Because what she said was somewhat open to interpretation, depending on how you read it.
If this is not how it is intended to work, then they will need to fix the code to make it that way. If this is how it is intended to function, then they are simply being unclear on how it should work, and just need to clarify exactly what the rules are around PVP packs and SR.
Yeah, looking back it looks like maybe her answer wasn't completely accurate in comparison to what I've experienced in the past, as per my above reply to Armageddon. I don't know if she just worded things wrong, had inaccurate/incomplete information, or if the way it works simply is not how it is supposed to. Maybe we can get a clarification come Monday.Originally Posted by Ether525 Go to original post
