I just found that on Reddit.

The original version is funny... who can't relate to that? I don't know how many times my brother's character has been shot dead, just standing there like a statue as Santa Blanca gun him down while he was putting his daughter to bed, or mixing another drink, but is that really helping to sell this game to anyone? (EDIT - I see your response above... I guess it does!)

2.) They have never played in public matchmaking.

It's a video game guys. It's not real life. And if you can't find humor in a live-action trailer featuring a washed-up rapper ten years past his prime playing a video game you're looking forward to, all while he is "Leeeeeeeroy Jenkinsss!"-ing his teammates into sticky situations, then you *probably* were one of the gamers complaining about Nomad's constant use of "S#!?balls!" in Wildlands.

Go fetch your funny bones guys. Just enjoy some lighthearted jokes for once.
So true. I had commented to a YouTuber response on the video. He upset at the trailer and wonder why the live action don’t have gameplay. He assumed new-comers will play the game and stop in 2 weeks. I’m starting to feel like people having early mental issues and it’s trending from the older crowd from what I seen. Why try to cross so much reality into a video game. My wife and kids probably stop playing if I was all that serious like that lol. They would be like dad/babe it’s only a video game. Stop arguing at the developers lol

I never was fond on reply along the lines: "lol, it's just a game, don't take it seriously".. I play ARMA and Squad, even in those games which are strongly in mil-sim area, we talk jokes, friendly annoy each other (this is also with random strangers matched together for the game, not some good old pals), playing hardbass on team channel. That game is made for serious type of gaming but it's us players/gamers who make it lighthearted and fun.

Breakpoint with this trailer is trying to attract games by "hey look, you can play this game silly and just casually abandoned your teammates when they need you (without punishment)", which tends to move development direction to create core gaming forgiving and without good identity aka casually appealing to anyone. This isn't just "don't play with those type of gamers", thing is that overall core gameplay will be waterdown in order to appeal to everyone, even those who might find that Candy crush is the most difficult thing they play ...

Again, I do agree that this trailer was done good and funny, when Nomad just suddenly stands idle in heat of battle. Seeing this happening all the time in trailer got me eyes rolling, with Lil Wayne talking some things which I didn't fully understand him (my English while not being too good is still better than his apparently). Also Lil Wayne would be good in AD for GTA or Saint Rows, not for Ghost Recon...

This is not how you market a game, not this type. Maybe I should just cancel my pre-order and forget about GR.

Reminds me of those Call of Duty ads from a while back, really trying to hit that demographic.

I guess if a trailer that is differentiating the characters in the game from the players playing those characters in the game offends you, then it is best you miss Breakpoint out.

Seriously, I mean it. GR is a fantasy escape game where we are pretending to be spec ops soldiers. If you're that serious about it, that how the human behind the avatar behaves defines the game for you then a mil-sim is probably a better genre of game for you to enjoy. GR is not and never has been a mil-sim.

I agree. And while it can be played very tactically, as demonstrated by guys like FIST and Real Time Commanders, it can also just be about having fun with some biddies and blowing off steam. I had a neighbour who was a helicopter pilot, in the Navy, and he used to play flight sims, like Apache Longlow. And the reason he did, was because he could do all the fun stuff that he would never dare do while flying an actual multi-million dollar aircraft. So if you get a bunch of team guys sitting around and playing a game, they aren't going to be taking it seriously, because they can't mess around in real life, or it could get someone killed, where there is no revive or respawn.

Can't lie, reminded me A LOT of those celebrity grabbing trailers for Modern Warfare 3.

People tend to get "tactical shooter" and "military simulation" mixed up often on here. This game is not meant to be a military simulation. If it was, there would be no fast travel, no tiered loot, no weapon customization aside from what you find in the field (which means, if you find an optic, you only have x1 of it, not "I can put this on everything at once,") extremely complicated vehicle controls (particularly air vehicles,) and no spawning vehicles. Oh, and, by the way, it would be a PC exclusive because of the dedicated RAM and space required.

Breakpoint is meant to have fun with your friends in. Sure, I dislike some parts, but overall the game serves its purpose.

Sure, but we’re talking Ghost Recon, not Just Cause. I thought the video was funny, and it was filmed in Canada . But I don’t really see it doing this franchise any favours. Wouldn’t it be cooler if they showed what FIST could do? Like really get immersed and role play a Spec Ops team? That might get gamers thinking... wow, that’s ****ing cool, I want to play that. Instead, they’re looking at this video laughing... haha... that’s just like when we played XYZ... the fact there’s a new game coming out with coop is almost lost here. I don’t know. We haven’t really seen any serious marketing of this game since the reveal. I’m not sure what their strategy is. Maybe they’re rolling in money from pre-orders and just pissing it away on stupid marketing videos.

I think it's really cool trailer. I really liked the neat touch of the women voiced as a dude. So real man!
